I did a lot of research for a quality, yet affordable hotel in NYC before choosing Ramada East Side. It's only 2 blocks down and one over to the 28th ST station for the #6 train. Room was clean...internet connection was excellent. Friendly staff at the front desk and exceptionally friendly staff in the breakfast room. Note: There's no heat in the bathroom, which as a bit of a discomfort in December. Breakfast was good for Europeans and Northerners, but Southerners beware, there's only boiled eggs, waffles, bagels, yogurt, sweet rolls along with various cereal. Coffee and Orange Juice was exceptional by US standards. I had packages delivered from Amazon during my stay without a problem.

Room Tip: Stay away from the elevator if possible. Typical Street Noise exists so the higher up the better.

Arrived on the 27th November, receptionist very pleasant , had a problem with key card but problem was sorted within minutes, house keeping very good could not fault it , all creature comforts within room . Fridge microwave, coffee station, whilst we were there the reception area was being refurbed , corridors and stairways and also lifts could do with the same but none the less very clean, far enough away from the noise of time square but close to some very good eating establishments, all in all great hotel with great memory foam beds best weeks sleep I've ever had. Breakfast continental but great selection

Room Tip: I'm sure all rooms are great

4 relatives booked one room for their weekend stay in NYC. They were pleased with their large room with 2 queen size beds. Location was near subway and buses to get around. However, Front desk needs to be more on the ball. When I came to meet them, I asked the front desk person to call their room. I gave the person all four names and was told none were checked in as guests. I gave their descriptions and hometowns. Nothing. Their cell phones were not being answered so I spent the next 20 minutes in the lobby trying to track down what hotel they were staying at and then the elevator opened and they came out knowing I was supposed to be meeting them. To make matters worse, the person at the front desk was the the one who checked them in the day before.

Dear pebb,
Thank you for your review. We hope your relatives enjoyed their stay with us. We’re sorry the front desk agent could not find them. Perhaps they had the names spelled incorrectly when looking them up in the system. Regardless, we apologize for the inconvenience.
We hope your out of town friends and relatives will choose to stay with us again.

The hotel location is perfect. Rooms are small. Fruits offered in the breakfast weren't always fresh (specifically banana).

We stayed here for 2 nights in November and were quite pleased. The hotel was having work carried out to the foyer and reception but this was not a problem. Overall the hotel is quite "tired" and is in need of some refurbishnent to the public areas. The room was quite adequate and comfortable. The breakfast area was quite basic but caters for most people and some good choices. The location is very good and most attractions are within easy walking distance. We would consider this hotel again on our next visit.

Room Tip: All rooms seem adequate as a base for a few nights

We just returned from Thanksgiving in New York and had the pleasure of staying at this Ramada. We were a little nervous based on the previous reviews - but we could not beat the price - especially over Thanksgiving! Yes, the lobby is undergoing a minimal remodeling, which did not impact us in any way. We arrived early and were able to check into our room. The front desk staff was very pleasant. Our room was small but no smaller than any other room we have stayed in while in New York. Overall a very nice experience and we would absolutely stay here again!

Room Tip: 414 was very nice!
