“Very convenient location”

We just spent four nights here, and the location was the best thing about it! We caught the subway from the airport which landed us just a block away. Certainly saved on the $60 cab fare and potentially long bus transfers into the city.

You are right on the doorstep of Times Square but not quite in the middle which is a good thing. The restaurants around the are brilliant, you are right on the verge of Hell's Kitchen.

The room was large and the staff were friendly. Just used the hotel as a base really.

This hotel is in a great location close to Times Square, subways, theaters--everything. The rooms are nice, the staff is helpful. We have stayed there many times over the last ten years or so. One of their doormen/bellmen, Charles, has been consistently helpful, personable, fun, and effective. If you need something or even seem like you need some help--he shows up and gets it done for you. The breakfasts at Pigalle are always a great start to the day. We will continue to stay here and look forward to the next trip to New York.

This was our second stay in this hotel. We chose it again because of the convenient location and the excellent rate. EVERY employee we came in contact with could not have been nicer or more helpful. We had a room on the 9th floor that faced 8th Avenue, but the apartment building across the way did not offer much privacy if you wanted to leave the drapes open. There must have been renovations going on because we could hear a little banging at certain hours. The bathroom is updated, but the caulking around the tub surround was a little discolored and needed some attention. I try to give a very honest review. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. We have another stay booked in March.

My wife and I stayed 4 nights to see shows, walk and sight see Manhattan, dine and have fun. We could not have had a better hotel. Our room on the 5th floor was excellent - clean, comfortable, very well equipped. My excellent rating is based on location, cleanliness, friendly helpful staff, bed linens mattress and comfort, free internet and HD tv, 3 excellent elevators and the very good Pigalle restaurant and bar downstairs. Also, we found it was good value in an expensive city.

Room Tip: King Evolution Room. The entire hotel is non-smoking. Probably less subway noise the higher the floo...

I've stayed here many times, and I'd normally rate the hotel a solid 4 star. Our rooms were still clean and pleasantly furnished, and the location near Times Square was, of course, very handy.

I booked two rooms for one night, and asked that they be near each other because my mother, a senior citizen, was with us. Unfortunately, her room reeked of cigarette smoke. They offered to spray it, but she's asthmatic. It was late in the day, and she was tired, and didn't want to have to leave while the spray aired out. They offered to place her at the other end of the hall, but she was nervous about being that far away from us. (We had overheard a conversation in the hall where a woman had summoned guest services due to an issue with a houseman. He had come to her room when he wasn't expected or needed, and she was nervous.)

I realize guest services couldn't do anything else, but wish housekeeping had fixed the issue when they noticed it. Notice it they must have, since opening the windows for two hours didn't do anything at all to improve the smell.

Also, our Hhonors status entitled us to breakfast in Pigalle. Service was dismal that morning. We couldn't get our waiter to bring us drinks, even though that was all he needed to do as we were eating from the buffet. I asked for tea four times, and the juice didn't come until we were taking our last bites of food. Coffee refills? Forget about those. Our waiter was borderline-rude. Very disappointing, as most of their waiters used to be efficient and pleasant.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us and the travel community. I must say I am truly sorry for the inconveniences you experienced during your stay with us. Our goal is to exceed the expectations of our guests and based on your review we did not accomplish this. I would just like to acknowledge that we are a 100% smoke free property but unfortunately, everyone does not always adhere to this policy causing inconveniences to other guests such as yourself. We also take our guests privacy and security very serious therefore I am happy to state that our houseman did not report to a room unexpectedly, there was a communication error and our Guest Experience manager was happy to assist and facilitate a satisfactory solution.
In regards to your breakfast experience at Pigalle, I will absolutely share your comments with their management staff. While Pigalle does work with the hotel by providing our guests with dining options they are a separate entity.

My sister and I stayed for five nights in October 2013 during our first visit to NYC. Lots of great things to say about this hotel. Location was fabulous, room was very quiet, clean and updated, staff were very helpful and friendly, etc, etc. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting NYC!

This hotel is very well located, near a subway station, good restaurants, a few blocks away from Central Park, and of course, Times Square. We did not use any cabs, just walked to places or took the subway. Rooms are cozy and clean. There are very good places to have breakfast on the same street, one of them is Brasserie Victoria. I would sure choose this hotel again.
