“Hilton Garden Inn Times Square”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

My two daughters and two year old granddaughter recently visited New York City for a girls trip. The Hilton Garden Inn staff went above and beyond to make our trip enjoyable and pleasant. Joanna Butcher, the Guest Experience Manager, was exceptionally helpful on several occasions whether it was helping my daughter with real estate documents that needed to be faxed immediately or fixing me a cup of tea as I waited in the lobby for my granddaughter to wake from a nap in our room. She always greeted us with a smile and and an offer to help in any way needed. Indeed, all staff members were courteous, professional and attentive to our every need. We plan to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn on our next trip to NYC!

We returned to the Hilton Garden Inn for a six night stay at the end March/beginning of April, having previously stayed in 2008. There was an issue with our reservation as the hotel had not received confirmation of it but Alfredo was really helpful and resolved the problems quickly. We had newly refurbished rooms which were lovely. The beds were really comfortable, bathrooms really clean and the staff as friendly and helpful as we remembered. The location of this hotel really can't be beaten and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. If we return to New York City, this is most definitely where we would stay. Don't be put off by the refurbishment programme. If we hadn't been told about it, we wouldn't even have known it was happening! This is a really excellent hotel on all counts.

I have stayed at a lot of hotels in NY, big names, boutiques, etc and this is the best room I have ever had. Spacious, brand new and good location. I am not a big fan of Times Square but if you have to be in the area, skip the W and stay here.

So glad we chose this hotel. The location was perfect. It was just a quick 3 minute walk to the heart of Times Square and not far from our theatre, Rockerfeller Center, great restaurants. The staff was courteous, professional, friendly. They were always there to greet us in the morning and throughout the day. We had the bed and breakfast package and really enjoyed the breakfast buffet every day. The rooms were a nice size even though the bathroom could have been a little more roomy. We would definitely consider staying there again on our next visit to NYC.

I stayed here while in town for a conference in midtown. The hotel is very conveniently located for midtown appointments and tourist wandering. It's off the busiest streets which means there's less noise and traffic, which was appreciated.

My room had two queen beds, a desk, a microwave and a mini fridge that was empty so you could actually fit your own things in it. Wifi was included which is rare and appreciated. The beds have adjustable settings, but it slipped my mind and I didn't try them out.

The bathroom was a letdown, but I think I may have stayed there mid-renovation. The counter, sink and mirror were new and gorgeous. The lighting was excellent, good for makeup application - take not, ladies. But the tub was awful. Its enamel had worn off and the tub had permanent yellow staining. I'm sure it was thoroughly cleaned, but the tub should be replaced. The wallpaper and cocking were pretty rough, but again, there were renovations going on so maybe the new sink was in but the tub was scheduled for later.

It's close to a drug store and a grocery store that offers tons of prepared foods, including fruit, which is great if you need to pick up a few things. There are also a few affordable restaurants that look to have walk-in seating. Foodies can find fancier fare within a short walk.

Note that they don't have breakfast room service, which I really would have appreciated. The restaurant is open very early but that doesn't help those of us rushing in the morning. Opt for the grocery store stuff the night before.

Things it has:
- shampoo
- conditioner
- soap
- iron & ironing board
- blow dryer
- mini fridge
- microwave

Bring your own:
- shower gel
- shower cap
- shoe shine stuff

I think it's a very affordable option in a very convenient location. I would recommend this for tourists who want to spend their money on things other than their hotels. The rate was very competitive and the mini fridge and microwave can help you cut costs on the little things. There were just a few things missing that would make ideal for business trips.

i can't really add much to what has been said previously about the Hilton Garden Inn, Times Sq. The location is ideal right next to all the theatres and Times square itself. Despite being in the thick of it, our room was a quiet oasis away from the noise and bustle. We had a bed and breakfast deal and the buffet in Le Pigalle was first class, enough to keep you going all day. The hotel is also close to the Grey Line HQ for excursions and New York Pass collections. The hotel is not huge, and with that you get more of a friendly atmosphere with the reception and door staff recognising you coming and going.
All in all a great hotel and one I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

This was my first stay at this hotel. We went with a tour group and when we arrived the hotel personnel couldn't have been more welcoming! The rooms were spotless, beds were very comfortable and the staff was awesome!! Location was perfect to everything we wanted to see in New York. Would highly recommend this hotel and can't wait to go back and stay at this same hotel!!!

Room Tip: Very roomy and quiet
