Could update their kitchen, coffee maker and more friendlier staff at check in. I think a big plus is the location, the charge of $30 per day a bit excessive if you have to convert it in ZA Rands, will be back soon

We were there from January 4th to January 8th 2014. Location is perfect, walking distance to Central Park, Times Square, Broadway, 5th Avenue, Empire State Building. We took a 48 hours pass on the Hop and Off bus (Grayline) to get an overview of New-York. We used it as transportation to lower Manhattan. Our executive studio on the 19th floor was a renovated one, well decorated and very roomy. High quality bedding and bathrobes. Plenty of towels. Kitchenette well equipped although there are no toasters (fire issue). 2 flat screens TV. All the staff we met were very friendly. I would certainly go back.

Room Tip: Ask for a renovated unit.

Stayed here over New Year having booked online after searching many hotels around town suitable for our stay. We asked in the booking for a renovated rom and got one, large enough for us as a family. Friendly and helpful staff especially bell team and housekeeping. Excellent location only issues really was internet, whilst free was a real challenge to connect to. Would definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Manhattan Club. Perfect launching pad to explore New York City. We were assigned an executive studio on the 20th floor – very roomy for a couple.
The room was well appointed and the plush bathrobes were a nice touch. The bed was very comfortable and the towels were of high quality.
All the units only have a partial kitchen, no stove or toaster is provided, but we still managed to prepare the odd meal. Wholefoods is only a few blocks away at Columbus Circle in the basement of Time Warner Center. Most mornings we had breakfast in the room and we purchased some ready prepared meals at Wholefoods that could just be reheated in the microwave.
Manhattan Club is well located to explore New York City. Central Park and Times Square are nearby and there were numerous subway entrances close by. We purchased the 7 day Metro pass which I found to be a great value. We also purchased the New York City Pass – the jury is still out as to whether this provided a good value, but it enabled us to avoid long lines.
We didn`t visit the fitness centre – I felt we walked/biked enough each day to wear off all those calories.
All the staff were friendly and provided excellent service except for the concierge – we approached her twice seeking advice and each time she was somewhat rude and arrogant. I was not impressed. Overall, a great place to stay and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

My husband and I went on a time share visit to the Manhattan Club. We were offered a special deal whereby we sat through a 90 minute presentation to sell us a 'bedroom suite' at the Manhattan Club for the equivalent of one week per year. For attending the presentation we were told we would get a $150. cash incentive toward a restaurant or Broadway Show. We were given a room at the Manhattan Club for $199. for the night. The presentation was during the day and we stayed in the 'hotel property; in a one bedroom suite that night. The room was just awful...old, smelly, run down furniture, the heat was terrible, the furniture dirty, the shower head needed changing, no amenities to accompany the hotel room. We could not wait to get out of there and were so grateful that we had not decided to become 'owners' in that property. We did enjoy the cash incentive and used it toward a great meal the night we stayed over. We will never go back to the Manhattan Club and wonder what the 'owners' think they are getting. The timeshare spin is that the hotel rooms are being renovated but there was no clear answer to what the time frame for those renovations would be and from our lens most of the floors were not renovated. The lobby was not attractive, the elevators crammed and inadequate for the flow of traffic. The cost for parking was great and the hotel staff were all just lovely.

Room Tip: Be sure you find out if you are in a renovated room and if not don't go there.

I recently completed a two night Disney Vacation Club exchange with the Manhattan Club during the Christmas holiday. Needless to say, an exchange is far more affordable than paying $500 a night for a decent hotel room in the city. Other than the fact that Disney exchange members are segregated on the 12th floor where the suites need major updating, the room was clean and nice, the staff was professional and the club ran efficiently. The room brought back memories of the 70's and 80's when we hung the dining room light with a looped gold chain! Needless to say, the location could not be beat with close proximity and walking distance to the theater district, superb restaurants, great shopping, and world class museums in the culture capital of our nation. Even the newly renovated 26th floor lounge, bar, and morning continental breakfast made it a very nice stay.

Room Tip: Ask for at least a street (56th street) view in this dense high rise part of town.
