The Wellington Hotel is a block off Broadway and right next to Carnegie Hall. I can see why in the day the hotel would have been a stellar accommodation, however the lustre has worn a little thin since those days.
the rooms are a good size for an older type hotel the bathrooms are also OK in size and serviceability, however there are no niceties like robes slippers etc.
The heating (winter) made it almost unbearable to sleep even with the windows open, and the heating system has gremlins running throughout, coning to life at all hours rattling the pipes in the heating system.
A reasonable 3 star hotel where you want to crash late after a show and just sleep till the construction works next door wake you.
ensure you get an internal courtyard facing room...you'll sleep better and longer.

Brilliant location. Rooms could do with a bit of attention, but doesn't really matter as we were hardly in it. Staff friendly. Would recommend Fluffy's for breakfast and Ray's pizzas. Visit the Empire State building at night, we went at 10pm and there were no queues at all. Subway was easy to use, invest in a weekly Metro card at $29, saves you a lot overall. Take in the 3hour boat trip around the island,definitely worth it. Take comfy shoes as a lot of walking. Fantastic holiday, would definitely go again and would definitely stay at the Wellington.

A great location in New York City! Walking distance to everything, Times Square, Threatre District, Central Park, Shopping, restaurants. The staff, very friendly, helpful. They gave us some great recommendations that helped make our trip amazing! The Suite, plenty of room, clean... only complaint no coffee in the room. I would definately stay there again!!

On arrival we were given the wrong room due to overbooking and had to spend the first night of our 3 night stay in a small room which was not suitable for our party. The next day, thanks to the manager, we were moved to a room which was better than the one we had actually booked and he did what he could to ensure we were happy. In the end a nice hotel, with nice staff and a lovely stay. Perfect location too. This review could have been so different though, had they not dealt with the problem so effectively.
