“Great Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

Often, the measure of how good a hotel is does not come from a perfect stay, but from how a problem is handled by the staff. We were in town for a very busy weekend in NYC, with the Global Citizens concert and the UN General Assembly happening over the weekend. We checked in Friday for a 2 night stay. We had a slight issue with our room. Although the hotel was booked solid for the weekend, the staff found us a new and upgraded room the next morning. They couldn't have been more friendly and helpful in trying to address our issue and offering the upgrade. The room was comfortable (standard room cozy and typical for a NYC hotel room, upgraded room spacious and very comfortable), beds were perfect, views were great, decor was very nice. We joined friends on the 16th floor in the Penthouse Suite for drinks before the show we attended, and the room and view were spectacular! The lobby was comfortable, we utilized both the "living room" area and the small bar area and enjoyed our time in both areas. Our only complaint was an early last call in the bar on Saturday. When staying uptown we will definitely return!

I live on the upper west side but stayed at this hotel the day before and the day of my wedding. What a great boutique hotel in my favorite NYC neighborhood! It is an incredibly convenient location for tourists in my opinion because you are a few short blocks from the express train and very close to the park. Definitely a better place to stay than midtown/Times Sq. We stayed in one of the penthouse rooms since we needed the space for the bridal party to get ready before the wedding. It was a nice sized room and the staff was great. There's also a bar area on the top floor that has a fantastic view and the lounge downstairs has live music on some nights. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a Manhattan hotel and doesn't want to be in the middle of Times Sq.

A great modern boutique facility with friendly staff. Rooms were rather small, but once you try the bed you'll understand why a small room doesn't matter at all. I keep falling asleep uncontrollably (yes, just like in commercials) once during a skype call. Sink is made from thin aluminium metal, so it gets rather clankily noisy, but the room and bathroom are real clean, so that's great. The neighbourhood is rather quiet and charming too.

Only gripe is that in-room Wi-Fi is super expensive and the wi-fi in the lobby didn't quite work for me. Other than that, I'm more than happy to stay here again!

I was in NYC for a couple days and stayed at this hotel to be close to my family on the upper west side and close to the park. Great price, great location, beautiful spacious room, awesome newly renovated shower/ bathroom. Funky sexy lighting in the room. Cute looking bar and lounge in the lobby. Comfortable beds.

We recently stayed at the NYLO for 2 nights. We were very satisfied with our stay. The staff at check-in was warm and inviting, quickly booking us into our room. We stayed in the NYLO Panoramic deluxe room. The room was spacious and the best part about it was the balcony. There was an amazing view to the Hudson River and beyond. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We travelled with our dog, and she was treated like a rock star. They gave us a care package of Rachel Ray dog products, featuring toys, treats, and a nice bag. We went to a show at the Beacon Theatre which is a 5 minute walk away from the hotel. We ate at Serafina and Red Farm, both attached to the hotel. We enjoyed both restaurants very much. The LOCL bar in the lobby was cozy and had delicious drinks. The upper west side neighborhood is great fun. It is so much less crowded than the tourist areas in NYC such as Times Sq. I would highly recommend thid hotel!

Room Tip: The panoramic rooms with balconies are awesome. It is very rare to find a balcony at any hotel in NY...

NYLO was an excellent place to say - we were up on the 15th floor with a great view of the river. It is worth the cost of the upgrade to go up a floor with a balcony. The location was great and both restaurants were really good especially the Dim Sum.

NYLO hotel is not only located in the perfect part of town just far away enough from all the wildness and just close enough to all the action but it is a home away from home. The rooms although a tad tiny (its New York so you know....) are perfect, everything from top to bottom was great, the bed was super comfy and the shower was fantastic.
Best thing about this hotel though....the staff, each and every one I dealt with was as nice as anyone could possibly be, I spoke with them as if they were friends for years.....be smart and stay here if you can, it wont be your only stay....

Room Tip: Corner rooms are a bit quieter but not enough to be upset if you dont get one....
