This place is very special. So special in fact that it synonymous with providing some of the best NY delicacies since it started in 1948. We are talking about cheesecakes, brownies, babkas, cupcakes, linzer tarts and most important of all, the coveted black and white cookie. Is there anything more velvety and smooth than that symbol of racial harmony as Jerry Seinfeld so eloquently phrased and immortalized it? "Look to the cookie" he said, referring to how the black and white parts complement each other to provide such a sweet and delicate pie. Indeed, this place has mastered the art of providing this social metaphor through its amazing fluffy and airy cookies. Pete Campbell was equally delighted when Don Draper & Megan brought him and Trudy a tin of cookies: "I see a familiar red tin!! Tweety, look what they brought? Doesn’t it make you homesick?".
You have got to visit this staple of NY bakeries and treat yourself to an array of delights. But you must start with the classic, the b&w cookie, and make your way up from there. What an experience! A must stop on any NY visit. You can even enjoy the cakes as you walk up and down the incredible Madison Avenue! Highly recommended.
