“Towers are great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2014

I am a frequent guest at the Waldorf Towers which never disappoints and keeps me coming back when in NYC. The staff are excellent, the location is perfect, the bars/restaurants are great and the overall hotel experience is wonderful.

I spent one night at the Towers of the Waldorf Astoria recently - sublime. The suite was fantastic. Enormous! Living room, study area with work desk, huge bedroom, four wardrobes, beautiful decor...I could go on and on. Wonderful views over Manhattan. The Personal Concierge at the Towers Reception (Krissy) was exceptional. She went out of her way to help me (I arrived way too early for an early check i, but she assisted me immensely). Helpful professional, knowledgable and friendly. I totally recommend this place for anyone visiting NYC for business or pleasure. Perfect location - well situated for all of what NY has to offer, The Towers of the Waldorf Astoria are an excellent hotel. I Will be back. Very very many thanks Krissy!!

Room Tip: Get one of the rooms on the top floor. Better views of the city!

Overall a very nice stay. However, minor issues with the suite (A/C unit) coupled with significant and yet unresolved issues with the valet parking group (Central Parking Systems) have tarnished our experience greatly.

After reading the reviews we booked a suite in the Towers.
The Towers has it's own foyer & staff & is rather special.
Room 34F2 was fantastic it had an entry foyer a separate lounge room, a very spacious separate bedroom with 2 x double beds with a dressing room adjoining plus a huge marble bathroom.
Ok the hotel is not new but has a lot of old world grandeur which we loved.
Location was excellent. The staff were discreet & very friendly.
This is one of the best stays we have had in our extensive world travels & was slightly more than staying at a Hilton in a standard room.
Highly recommended.

Room Tip: The Towers is the place to stay.

Stayed-- once again-- for two nights in the Towers for work. Have the impression the place has even improved-- perhaps cleaner than before? Rooms are generous, location excellent for mid-town work, service quite good. Breakfast for "members" is in an odd room, with no view to speak of. But the food is very good, fresh bagels, salmmon, as well as other traditional food. Afternoon tea and cofee featured delicious Italian cookies. One small suggestion: get loose leaf tea. The "other" Waldorf Astoria is busy, crowded with tourists and UN types, and frankly not as pleasant. Highly recommend Towers for quiet, efficient work stay. Only drawback-- no free WiFI. ( I think the in-room charge was whopping $18, which we declined.)

We stayed with friends for four nights (second time in four years). Despite booking 6 months ahead of time we still ended up 11 floors away from each other, this also happened the time before! Room was wonderful but we had to take our own bags to our room (no porters to be seen), no tea/coffee making facilities in our room so a little disappointing for a 5 star hotel.

Our room key which also was needed to be used for the elevator never worked in the elevator despite being reprogrammed three times, we gave up in the end.

Great location and beautiful building full of character and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: 5th Avenue view corner suite

We stayed one night at the Towers and wished it could have been longer. We had reserved a junior suite, but were upgraded to a suite that is larger than my daughter's 2 bedroom Manhattan apartment. From the 40th floor our bedroom had views eastward across the East River to Queens while the dressing room and living room had views southward including the Chrysler Building. It is surprising that in NYC you can still hear an occasional siren 40 floors up. The room was very well maintained-one gentleman was replacing a light bulb when we got there and shortly thereafter another man came to fix a curtain hook (we were informed at check in that both would be happening). Our room was not ready when we arrived early at 1pm, but we were given cards to access the lounge for free soft drinks. By 2:30 (an hour and a half before stated check in time, we were able to enter our room).
Although I have read criticism of the breakfasts in the Astoria Lounge, for a continental breakfast it was more than adequate. Yes it can get a little crowded.
Other pluses were coupons for free cocktails at any of three bars at the Waldorf, the parking which cost $60 a night (but allowed in and out privileges-we have stayed in Manhattan hotels that charged $55 each time we took the car out), and free WiFi.
As we were checking out, the bellhop saw that we had an umbrella from our stay at the Trump hotel earlier in our trip (it was rainy earlier in the week) and gave us two umbrellas from the Waldorf.
The Towers is truly one of the top hotels in NYC.

Room Tip: H suites are at the southeast corner giving expansive views.
