Yes, it's expensive, but a stay at The Pierre is an unforgettable experience. First, the location is the best: on Fifth Avenue across from Central Park, on the Upper East Side but just steps from Midtown. And to make it even better, there's a subway stop right around the corner. The hotel has been beautifully restored and is tastefully elegant. The comfort and amenities are first rate, the beds so divine we didn't want to get up. The Pierre is the only hotel left in NYC with 24-hour elevator operators. What impressed us most was that, for a big hotel, it felt very intimate and personal. The staff is fabulous - attentive, personable, and friendly - we felt like honored guests every time we met anyone, whether the housekeepers in the halls, the elevator operators, the front desk receptionists or the doormen. The concierge desk deserves special praise for their cheerful and immediate help with whatever we needed. We can't wait to return for another exceptional stay.
