“Opulence at it's finest”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2012

Michaelangelo!!! I love this place, love love it. Upon walking into the lobby you feel like your walking into a palace, so beautiful, the front desk staff was super nice and helpful. I did get lost trying to find my room but some of the staff helped me out. I got the Executive Room for my girlfriend and I and this room was worth every penny! Amazing room, extremely big for the city, huge bath tub and shower and the bed, it was like sleeping on a cloud. The view did suck but no biggie. This hotel is sickkkkk I recommend it to everyone, even if its for a night!

p.s.- if your with a group of friends this is the hotel to get , besides the hilton and the other high end places like the plaza, the palace, etc. it has the most space per square inch for a room in the city

Room Tip: you should keep an eye on booking.com. I used this site when booking the hotel and got a great deal...

I travel to NYC from Dallas at least once a month and have seen it all. This is the best kept secret in NYC...staff is attentive, highly customer focused, the rooms are amazing, the location is the best and even when its busy, you never feel like your in a tourist trap. It feels very exclusive but pricing is just a great value for what you get compared to the chain hotels in the area (from my experience). I would also say if you need anything at all the staff are going to bend over backwards and spit nickels to make sure you get what you need.

The Michelangelo is an Italian/US style, NYC hotel, located on 51st, between 6th and 7th, a top location for everywhere you want to go. The rooms are spacious, clean and good standard, a little.Really comfortable beds. Central park is only 5 min. away so perfect for a morning run in the park. Nice to start the morning with the complementary coffee, teas and muffins. The concierge was very helpful on pointing out local wine bars, try the Morrell Wine Bar & Cafe at the Rockefeller Plaza. An enjoyable stay, though pricey.

My wife and I spent our 10th anniversary in New York and stayed at the Michelangelo. The location was absolutely perfect with being a mere few blocks from Central Park, Times Square, the Theatre District etc...

All the staff were great, but the concierge was the creme of the crop. Hotel rooms were large, well layed out, and very nice.

We will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Book the room fairlly early and look online to see views of the different layouts. Find what is best...

We have stayed numerous times at this beautifully appointed hotel. The lobby is warm and welcoming, and check in staff warm and friendly as well. The Concierge is well versed in fine dining as well as tracking down those hard to find play fix. The complimentary morning cappuccino, coffee, tea, and biscotti is a nice touch. The rooms are spacious, and well appointed. Bathrooms are huge, marble and granite abound. Excellent water pressure also.
Have stayed with our kids, as well as by ourselves, and have had nothing but a pleasurable trip.

Great location in the middle of Manhattan. Large rooms. Somewhat traditional decor. Good service. Well stocked mini bar. Perfect for business trips.

We had a week in this hotel. It's expensive but you are in the heart of Manhattan.

Service standards were high but we both fell ill (no fault of the hotel) and getting assistance proved difficult - too many staff had English as a second language.

This apart our only issue was the price of extras such as internet access at $12.99 per day (no weekly rate) and the add-on charge for external phonecalls.

Overall an extremely comfortable stay and possibly the comfiest bed we have ever slept in! We also liked the free coffee and pastries breakfast - much better than their standard $21 per head restaurant offering.
