“A luxury hideaway in New York”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2014

We stayed at the Lowell for three days prior to joining a cruise. It was recommended by friends and they were spot on. It is the best boutique city hotel we have ever stayed at. Situated near the corner of 63rd and Madison it is a stones throw to Central Park and Fifth avenue. It is a small family operated hotel that sets new standards in presentation, service and luxury. Our suite was huge (a rarity in New York) and included a separate living/ Dining area, a small kitchen, spacious bedroom and beautifully styled bathroom. But, the standout was the fireplace. A real, fireplace that the staff will prepare, on request, with selected scented timber logs. If only the weather had been cooler, we would have had a crackling fire in the evening and a bottle of red. Glad we have found this gem. It will be our first choice on our next trip to NYC

Room Tip: Try for one with a fireplace

Dear Emened,

Thank you so very much for sharing your experience with us. I personally remember you, and do hope that you had a lovely time on the cruise after you departed from us! Our entire team focuses on providing the highest service standards to ensure our guests have an exceptional stay. You must come back in the fall or winter months so you can enjoy our wood burning fireplaces in a spacious suite. We hope we have become your new home when visiting Manhattan!

Wishing you a wonderful rest of summer,

I spent just one night in the Lowell. I always try to book via law.com, and I prefer the Upper East Side. The Lowell is a very small hotel. There is no big lobby, and the floors are pretty small, too. One should love this private atmosphere. The service was overwhelming. The room was in best shape, in a timeless American design. Only the air-conditioning was noisy, which should´t be. The bathroom was huge, in white marble. Unfortunately, I missed to try the gym and the breakfast. But if you look for a quiet, privat hotel, the Lowell is the right place. In a city that never sleeps it is a place to find a rest and refresh for the adventures in the city jungle.

Room Tip: I got an upgrade in a junior suite, which was really spacious and lovely.

The Lowell has set the standard for all my subsequent hotel experiences, which none have ever passed and few have reached its height.

Where to begin… It caress you with a warm touch, it soothes you with cozy, tasteful furnishings, it delights you with its first class decor. Whoever said "I want to live here", has spoken true; in an instant, it is your home, and you belong to it.

It is the best, most welcoming, romantic suite I have ever stayed in.

We love it here. So intimate and calm and just so well done. Very intimate lobby area, and the rooms are fabulous. Our room this time was a deluxe jr suite with a terrace. The front desk does a great job of securing transportation, theatre tickets, etc. It feels like a private club.

What can I say...I love this hotel. At check out, my husband and I regretted having to leave. The entrance and the lobby are discreet. The check in and check out were easy and fast. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The décor is cozy and soft. The room was very comfortable and quiet. Room service food was excellent and came on time. The dining room on the 2nd floor was lovely. The location is very good - Madison & E 63rd. I've stayed at a lot of different hotels in New York City (The Trump at Columbus Circle, The Plaza Athenee, New York Palace, The Palace, The London, Gramercy Park Hotel, and The Ritz Carlton CPS) and I have finally found the hotel for us.

This may be the best hotel experience I've ever had! Property itself is immaculately maintained, and the rooms are spacious by NYC standards. Mine even had a small kitchenette. Well supplied gym, with complimentary sports drinks and power bars. Staff is very welcoming and professional as well. Can't say enough great things about it.
