“Ask for room 303!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2011

I'm in New York frequently for business. This was by far the best hotel experience I've had.
The suite I stayed in was so tastefully decorated, had great amenities and was amazingly priced. You can't beat the location and the service is top notch.
I was surprised by the beautiful modern kitchen, which had everything you need for a stay in New York, even an ice maker.
I loved the "rain shower" shower head in the stunning renovated bathroom -- actually I discovered that the whole suite had recently been completely redone. There are lovely city views with trees out all the windows; the room is so quiet I forgot I was in New York
The staff was extremely accommodating, I was originally put in another room and asked if they had anything nicer, they moved me to 303 and I couldn't believe the difference!
The secret to the Lombardy is knowing which room to stay in. I found out that each room is individually owned. The owners of 303 have impeccable taste in art (originals on the walls) and design. The bed was so comfortable, I felt like I was at home. The suite has huge flat screen televisions in both rooms with free HBO, streaming NETFLIX and tons of cable channels.
This hotel suite was like being a guest in a friend's fabulous Park Avenue apartment.
I plan to book room 303 for my next trip to New York!!!

Room Tip: Ask for suite 303!

Walking distance to Upper Midtown attractions and Central Park. Good quality room, spacious and well-appointed. Good kitchenette, but no complimentary coffee/milk/sugar etc, so we couldn't have a drink on arrival and had to buy from shop - maybe this is normal for NY, but this was our first visit. Excellent service (doorman, concierge, bell boy etc). Simple continental breakfast included. No restaurant, lounge or even a decent bar (just a small bar where breakfast was served), but who needs these when Manahattan is on your doorstep. Good value-for money. Our room was at the back so no noise except the slightly irritating air conditioning of the blocks behind us.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the front to avoid noisy air conditioning at back.

My husband and I went on vacations in August 2010, following a friends advice we booked at the Lombardy which is a hotel where you get to stay in a flat. The decoration , furniture follows the owner´s taste .The flat we stayed had a huge terrace , the living room was very confortable with comtemporary decoration, dinner table where we had our breakfast, free internet acces .Continental Breakfast is included in the daily rate which is very rare to find in NY. We had a king size bed and wal in closet. The staff was nice and helpful and kept our bags while we flew to Chicago.

We spent 3 nights at the Lombardy in June 2011. I booked it as it was near many places we planned to visit + the subway. The rooms were very large and well appointed. The staff was outstanding.
We visit NYC once or twice a year and this was by far the best hotel we have stayed in.
The price is very reasonable (for NYC). We will always stay here in the future.
Try it . You will not be disappointed.

We stayed in this Hotel in June during a heat wave and it was so nice to come home too each day after walking around this amazing city
Very rarely has this happened to us but when checking in we were informed that they had very kindly upgraded us to a suite, which was fantastic.
We like space when staying in a place for more that a few days, and so upon reading many reviews about the Lombardy which all sounded really good , and looking at pictures of various rooms that looked really spacious, we decided to stay there , and were not let down one bit . The very large bed was comfortable the bedroom enormous by New York standards. The kitchenette really good, kettle, microwave, frig, coffee maker etc. we also had the benefit of a huge sitting room with TV's in each room it's a shame that we didn't have time to use all these amenities.
We would definitely stay there again.

Spacious, well decorated rooms - apartments, actually - designed by owners, in this co-op hotel. Tiny bathroom, but small downside to otherwise terrific rooms. All are different, so push for one you like. Free continental breakfast - great location.
