“Comfy, convenient, and cozy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2012 via mobile

We were married this week in NYC and stayed at the Belvedere .. Very nice to have microwave and fridge in the room..great location .. All the staff were sooo helpful ! Caesar and Keno especially. Chris the concierge gave us an exact printout on how to take subway to see Traces. When I got home I thought I had list a necklace and Keno was kind and helpful. I did find it but it was cool that when I called back he was as happy as I was.. Best stay ever! Great soft pillowtop beds.. Get the executive king rooms. Very nice!! Highly recommended!!

“Great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2012

I stayed at The Belvedere for my birthday. The price and location were excellent. I loved the view from my 16th floor room. I met some friends in the city, but stayed at the hotel alone. I felt safe the entire time.
The room was clean and housekeeping was very friendly, nodding hello and see ya laters as I came and went. The doormen and check in desk workers were very welcoming and seemed to remember me every time. Even the clerk in the lobby gift shop was very nice.
The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. I did find the window air conditioner unit a bid odd. However, it did help to lower the sounds from street to allow for a peaceful night's sleep.
There were many restaurants/bars to choose from. Restaurant Row is also very close. I had no problem getting a taxi to and from the hotel. The car service from the airport also easily had me from the airport to the hotel and back to the airport again.
I will be staying at this hotel again in the future.

Room Tip: The 16th floor has great views. I have read some reviews that are disappointed with the "kitch...

“Great 4 night stay at The Belvedere NYC”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2012

Just returned from staying at this hotel and found that the other reviews are spot on. We were on the 9th floor but at the front of the hotel. Rooms are large and the bathroom is tiny, but that didn't cause our family of four (including 2 teenagers) any major problems. The rooms are very warm but we were able to open our window to control the temperature. The location of the hotel is an absolute winner, so easy to get everywhere! Local recommendations include Pigalle's on W48th and 8th for buffet breakfast $19.99 all inclusive; for a cheaper breakfast, buy juice and hot filled rolls/bagels at 7 Brothers Deli on 49th and 9th - both of these are 2 mins from hotel. For something even closer definitely try Patzeria Family and Friends which is two doors away. Doesn't look much from the outside but you get a very warm welcome and great Italian food at reasonable prices and is great if you don't want to wander far after a long day's sight seeing and are a bit jet lagged. Enjoy!

“A good base to experience New York”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2012

This was our second visit to New York, returning to the hotel we stayed at in March 2010 for another six night stay. We looked at other hotels but all things considered we decided that this was as good a place as any to lay our heads after a hard day pounding the concrete.

We arrived early therefore our room wasn't available but we got all the formalites out of the way. Yudy on reception was great, friendly and helpful. We headed off for a couple of hours and when we returned we noticed that our room number had changed. Yudy had switched the room to the same as we had March last year, 1505. A nice touch, one that we appreciated.

The rooms are a good base complete with a small kitchenette area that has a fridge, coffee maker and microwave and a modest sized bathroom complete with shampoo's etc. The shower is good, powerful and hot water is no problem. The bed is huge and so comfy, it is without doubt the best holiday bed we have ever slept on. Inside and outside noise was minimal which enabled a good nights sleep.

A frustrating point of the stay was the internet connection. We stayed in an Executive King room which had wifi included. However connection was lacking often. Once connected, the speed was fine though. (Patience isn't a virtue I am blessed with) ;-)

If you like a bath after a hard days exploring give 1505 a miss as the plug in the bath is non-existant meaning its a shower only.

The location is great for all things touristy, it really is a little gem and no plug and outage on the net would not deter us from stopping here for a third time. We won't even contemplate other hotels, we nailed it with this one.

Overall, a great stay. Staff are professional, courteous and make you feel welcome and at home.

If you have any questions, drop me a message. I will be happy to respond.

Enjoy your trip to NY :-)

Room Tip: Request a rear facing room to minimise street noise. Pick a Bagel a few blocks up is a great place...
