“Hotel OK, location fantastic!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2014

I just spent 7 nights with my Family in this Hotel, we were located in a room on the 14th floor with a good view, Service was minimalistic, I suppose due to size of the hotel and the number of guests which one saw on a daily basis just in the lobby.....it was very very crowded. But, service at the front office was fine, also for housekeeping. Good is that they have a Starbucks in the lobby. Location is just perfect, directly on Times Square and within walking distance of Central Park and other highlights. It was a good stay!

I absolutely loved my break in New York! We stayed at the sheraton for 5 days 4 nights and it was brilliant. The location is perfect just in the middle of everything. Times Square is just down the road, it's really near to radio city and the Rockefeller centre. The staff were always happy to help and the housekeeping lady was lovely she always asked what we would be doing that day and wished us a nice stay, seven writing us notes to say she hoped we were enjoying ourselves. Our check out was at 12 but our flight wasn't until 7, we were able to leave our bags I'm a secure place until we were ready to leave. I would recommend this hotel!

It is right in the heart of Manhatten and Times Square which hosts landmarks, shops and several tour bus companies. Just down the block is one of the entrances to expansive Central Park. It is a clean and comfortable hotel but it is a bit on the costly side however given its location, this is to be expected. I would definitely stay here again.

3 of us spent two nights here last weekend, Friday and Saturday night. We arrived late on Friday night. The hotel lobby was quite busy. There were numerous taxi's outside the front door making loading and unloading very difficult and congested. Despite no one else at the registration desk, Check in was painfully slow due to computer issues. We were offered a loyalty membership so that in-room internet would be free. We went ahead and signed up. We were given a room on the 48th floor with double beds far from the elevator.

The room was on the small side, down the hall from the elevator facing a side street and surprising quiet. I realize that there were 2 beds in the room, but the beds were full size, not queen size making it very uncomfortable for my Husband & I to share a bed! Most hotels have upgraded to Queens when there are two beds in the room! The air-conditioning was sub par. We pegged it as low as it would go (67 degrees) and the room still felt warm all night. There are adequate plugs for all you electronics and there was a Keurig machine in the room for coffee. The minibar is censored so don't pick anything up unless you want it or you will be charged.

We were up and out of the hotel early on Saturday morning. When we returned to our room around 5 pm, the room had been serviced, but it was not clean. There was toilet tissue in the toilet, the beds were made up but still the coverlet was all wrinkled (as if someone had been laying in the bed) and my iPad which I had left charging was unplugged. In the bathroom more shampoo and conditioner was provided, but the sink was not cleaned. I was not impressed with the housekeeping service.

The bathroom was particularly small. The toilet so close to the shower there was barely room for the shower mat. The shower had poor water pressure and the toilet did not flush properly. To that end, we had to call maintenance to plunge the toilet when it would not flush properly. To their credit, at 9 pm on Saturday night maintenance came quickly and resolved the toilet issue.

There was also an issue with the TV. The TV would come on but no picture would show. My husband fiddled with it and only if you held the ON button for a prolonged period would the picture come on.

The location of this hotel can not be beat. Right in the middle of everything on 7th avenue. Subway within steps of the front door. Good food very close by. Times square within walking distance and proximity to all the theaters. The other positive I should note are the elevators. They are quick and efficient at all times of the day and night. With upper floors being serviced by their own set of elevators that start at the 27th floor.

I got a really good price on Hotels.com, and if I could get a good price again, I would book this hotel solely because of the location. I would be sure to only put 2 people in a room and get a King Size bed.

I took a trip to NY with my grandmother and cousin and stayed here. Great location but hotel needs updating, especially the bathroom in the rooms. The best part of our experience was Joy, a staff member who went above and beyond. Besides comping our room Internet and gym (what hotel charges to use a gym at this price?), she really helped with our grandmother who is much older and a little senile. She made sure that my grandmother received multiple newspapers to keep her occupied, and gave her a bracelet to remind her what hotel she was staying at. She also was able to give good advice about the area. Joy definitely made our stay more comfortable and it was much appreciated!

Hotel room clean, staff very nice and helpful as this our first trip to New York.Food in and near Times Square is expensive and not that good. Stay away from the Deli and Cafe across the street from hotel as money grabber. We found good food at reasonable prices at Cosi,Stagecoach(Alex the Irish waitress was great),Fluffy's (Mrs Fluffy is so cute),Metro. We used the Grayline passes Hop on and off) for 5 days and paid 25.00 extra per person for 1 day,but beware it is done in hours not days so it starts as soon as it is activated by time also this includes VIP and a lot of the tour guides do not recognize it so you have to mention it as it puts you in a different line. This Hotel is close to everything which was great. We saw 2 Broadway Shows(Kinky Boots and Wicked) they were amazing.Great Vacation!!!!!

Room Tip: we stayed on the 12th floor in a King size bed.Rooms are small but we didn't spend alot of time...

I stayed here for a business meeting. The hotel is conveniently located at the northern side of Time Square, but that's about all that's good about it.

It is noisy. Even in my upper (16th) floor I can still hear the traffic below well enough to wake at night.

The internet connection is flaky. You'd think that at a Sheraton that wouldn't happen.

The room just isn't clean. The windows need a thorough wash and the bathroom could use a pain job.

Finally, they charge $10 and more for each package over 1lb delivered to their "business center". That's a new one for me...

Save your money and stay at one of the better hotels down the street.

Hello eladyt,

We appreciate your feedback regarding your recent trip to New York. We are sorry that we were unable to meet your expectations this time, and are looking into resolving the problems that negatively impacted your stay with us. You are right to have expected a strong internet connection, an immaculately clean and quiet guest room, better service and much more from us, as these are hallmarks of a usual stay in a Starwood Resort hotel. Please contact Mr. Joe Giordano personally at joseph.giordano@sheraton.com to discuss your experience in further detail. We’d also love another opportunity to make things right on your next visit to Manhattan. Thanks again for your review, and we hope to hear from you soon.

Warm regards,
