“Location is great, the rest is average....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

What can you say about the location? It's in Times Square. You can walk and get to almost anywhere for dining, shows, shopping, etc. The hotel itself is pretty average from top to bottom. Check in was smooth and the staff was curteous. The room was clean but the overall appearance of the room was not what one expects from Sheraton. Small as most hotel rooms in NYC are so no surprise there. A little TLC would help this hotel immensly.

The location is great, but the rooms are on the small side and the bathrooms are the size of a small closet. The hotel charges for everything, including a $10 fee to hold bags before or after check in.

The hotel, however, is clean and the staff are friendly.

Room Tip: I think all the rooms are the same small size. I have been on the executive floor and on other floor...

Staying for a long weekend and found this hotel to be perfect, very clean and very well maintained and upgraded. Upon check in we were taken care of by one of the best Hotel employes I have ever had the pleasure of having help me. Her name was Joy and she was great in making sure we got the room we needed after an internet reservation third party that was messed up. She also made sure we had a little extras to make our stay great. Our room was big and clean and over all I would recommend this hotel to anyone who had to stay midtown

Having stayed before in a Sheraton in Chicago, I expected a bit more from this hotel. We found the lobby staff to be pretty unfriendly and also there seemed to be a lack of people staffing the desks with queues building up quite often. Housekeeping staff were friendly however and always greeted you with a smile in the morning.

The room was a decent size and the bed was very comfortable but the walls are really paper thin, we were kept up/woken up more than once by noisiness from the other rooms. This may not be too fair on those guests but the fact that walls deflected no noise made it very irritating.

Location was very good for all the midtown attractions and for getting to Central Park but overall we wouldn't stay here again as it didn't meet with our expectations.

The only good part about this stay is that I'm not paying for it. It seemed to be doomed from the beginning: there was a large group of people checking in just in front of me, and only one clerk on duty. There were two clerks open and available for "elite" status guests, of which there were few. As the line for the plebs grew just too long and embarrassing, the "elite" agents started calling us regular folks over to check in - after about a 30 minute wait.

The room itself - well, the pictures say it all: small, dirty, disappointing. Extremely overpriced minibar and room service options. And the strangest thing: just about every television network was available, except HBO (?) Five separate ESPN channels anyone? But not to worry, my floor mates kept me entertained with their loud banter that I could clearly hear through the walls. Some positives about this property: it is convenient to Midtown Manhattan, Central Park, Times Square and easily accessible by subway. So are any number of comparable hotels in the area. Try one of those instead.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else.

Booked on SPG points - room was very small although was supposedly upgraded - small bathroom, basic toiletries provided, thought it would have been better for Gold member, bed was quite uncomfortable too. Concierge helpful with recommendations, location great for theatre district times square central park all the usual stuff subway very close - not sure we would stay there again though., Stayed at an older hotel last fall on next block -at least they upgraded to a suite!

Stayed as part of a girlie break to New York for 4 nights and found this to be perfectly adequate. Great location, walking distance to all broadway shows & everything on Times Square. Right beside a subway station. Rooms are very small & bathrooms too. As other posters have said, room doors close quite loudly which can be a pain but didn't bother us too much. Free wifi in lobby area- would have loved free wifi in rooms as $15 a day is extortionate. Lastly, we had to pay $3.25 an item to leave out luggage at the hotel after check out- have never had to pay for this privilege before!!
All in all, really enjoyed my stay and would stay here again!
