Just got back with the family ,enjoyed the hotel asked for and was given interconnecting rooms so he girls were fine . Olivia the operations supervisor arranged for chocolate to be sent up for our 13 year old daughters birthday ,lovely touch .Omar the concierge was awesome and really made our first stay in New York special .the only issue was with the air con that we could not get to work ,shame because everything else was first class .would stay again Alan

Standard Renaissance hotel. Trendy lobby, good service. Located in the heart of Times Square and the R-Lounge overlooks it. Room was a decent size for NYC but I had a connecting room and the neighbors were noisy at times. There was an intermittent buzzing noise in the hallway; not sure what it was but not worth it since I only stayed one night. My room was also pretty dirty, I think the cleaning team needs to pay more attention to detail.

As Elite I was offered an upgrade at check-in when asked but declined since I did not want to wait for it. No Concierge Lounge but was offered a free appetizer in the main lounge (which she allowed me to use for coffee and dessert). Light continental breakfast in the same lounge, I've had better.

I probably would not stay here again for business. Great location but too many tourists. Ideal hotel if you are in that group.

I love this hotel! Have just returned from my third stay and it just gets better! Concierge is always extremely busy, but they have always got time to look after their guests. Omar was especially helpful. The bell boys are fab, love the English accent and have time to laugh about English football. Food consistently good, both in the R Lounge and at breakfast. Rooms very quiet and comfortable, clean bathroom with lots of towels, but strangely no shower gel! Will defiantly be returning.

The Renaissance New York Hotel Times Square is one of the more impressive hotels I've ever had the privilege of staying at. Located right in the center of all the chaos that is Times Square, the Renaissance offered a quiet, modern and laid back experience, almost giving off a "boutique" hotel vibe.

Our connecting rooms on the 22 floor were spotlessly clean, featuring an understated modern motif, with quality furnishings and amenities. By New York standards both rooms were spacious and in excellent condition. Room soundproofing was very good, both from the outer hallways and the hustle and bustle from Times Square below. The bathrooms were pristine, with one room featuring a tub, the other a glassed in shower. Both bathrooms had very cool iridescence tiling and featured nice Aveda products that were replaced daily. Rooms were cleaned in a timely fashion each day, and offered a nice turn down service in the evening. Both rooms also had nice flat large flat screen televisions with the usual assortment of channels and pay per view options. Wi-Fi is available for nearly $17 a day...a common trend among nicer hotel chains that I wish would disappear.

Dinner at the R Lounge not only offers an unbeatable view of the Times Square activity, but the food was very well prepared and the service attentive. The prices for the dinner menu are reflective of New York, but not outrageously so. Drink prices on the other hand seem to be above average, with service in the booth/seating areas outside the R Lounge itself spotty at best. We enjoyed a nice breakfast at the hotel during our stay, the selection of items offered in the buffett was good, food of decent quality, and the service provided by the wait staff extremely friendly and highly professional.

The check-in area is located on street level and is very small and I imagine this could present problems during peak periods. We did not experience any difficulties however, even though when we arrived the check-in lobby was fairly crowded. A desk clerk acknowledged us quickly and directed us to her work station where check-in was completed without any difficulty. There is no "reserved or dedicated' parking area outside the hotel for checking-in, and I imagine for someone trying to drive themselves, check-in and park at the hotel can be quite intimidating, but in our case that was the problem for the car service or taxi driver...and they seem to take everything in stride. The hotel is also convienently located near several subway lines, with stations for the yellow and red lines practically outside the door.

And kudos to the doorman who stood outside in a chilly rain for a good five minutes before finally being able to hail a cab for us. Another example of the professional, courteous attitude that made our stay at the Renaissance so enjoyable. So if you're looking for a centrally located Times Square hotel...that offers a relaxing break from the outside madness...you can't do better that the Renaissance. A job well done by the entire staff!

Room Tip: For the best view ask for a high floor room...although they do cost a bit more.

Nice and clean hotel, big rooms and nice views to times square. if you want to stay near the mayor attractions this hotel its perfect. the only downside are the staff, not as welcoming as we expected and didn't receive any recommendation for the area attractions.
Our stay was in December 27th.

Stayed at the Renaissance Times Square for 4 nights over the New Year period, pretty perfect place to watch the Times Square celebrations.
As we arrived at the hotel, we were given our key to a room on the 15th floor, however when we entered, the beds were not made and it looked as if housekeeping were only half way through cleaning the room. We went back down to reception and were given an alternative room straight away.
Beds were very comfortable and the room was very clean.
Don't have much to complain about, it's well worth a stay.

Took my gf here for her 21st. Was epic! Well worth the price. The rooms are awesome! We had a view of the stock exchange building opposite. Made the room even more amazing. It was of an extremely high standard and very large! There was also a nifty little switch in the bathroom which let you listen to the tv while you're in the bathroom. Concierge were very helpful and very appreciative of tips. Just book this hotel and don't look anywhere else!!
