The Park Central is getting pricier, as are most NYC hotels. The rooms are clean and neat, but could use additional touching up. It is in a terrific location that makes any negatives less annoying. Don't eat or drink at the hotel. Prices for average food and beverages are 50% higher than elsewhere in the area. Don't believe the 12:00 o'clock check out, they disable the room keys at about 11:00 on the day of your departure, and you will have to argue with the manager that you do not want to wait in a long check out line just to get your key activated to get your luggage.
There are many international tourists that are staying there as a part of tour packages, and the myriad of languages and people give it a nice ambience. Despite some issues, I will stay there again as long as the price is competitive.

Our experience was most memorable at Park Central,NY thanks to Ms NILSA at the reception. Right from check-in (very smooth) to any query / requirement we had, she was extremely helpful, prompt & understanding. The room was not ready as we'd reached the hotel earlier than expected, but she assured us that she'd keep it ready and gave us some lovely suggestions on how to keep our bags at concierge & spend the couple of hours of wait. Located so close to Times Square and Central Park, very convenient.

I've stayed at this hotel many times now, because its location makes it perfect for visitors and the rates are reasonable for NYC, especially with discounts for longer stays. The lobby has a comfortable and modern look and the service areas are top notch. Hotel management and its service staff are very helpful and attentive. On the down side: the rooms look increasingly shabby, it seems like it's time to replace worn down carpets and most of the light fixtures, particularly in the bathrooms. There's no free wi-fi in the lobby (if you see many people in the lobby using their i-Pads, it's courtesy of Starbucks which is two doors down 7th avenue) and wi-fi service in the guest rooms is $15 plus taxes. The heating system has no middle ground: it's either full throttle and your room becomes a sauna, or it's so cold you'll find yourself calling Housekeeping for extra blankets. All in all I still believe this hotel is a great value, I've stayed in many in NYC and haven't found better at this price point.

My friend and I stayed at the Park Central Hotel on 7th Avenue in NYC. We had the best time thanks to the hospitality of their staff, mostly the hotel manageress we had the opportunity to talk to, Elisabeth. She was so accomodating and really made a difference. The hotel is very well located in the heart of mid-manhattan. Rooms are nicely sized and very comfortable. The hotel definitely has a special character. Very nice and welcoming, definitely recommend it.
