If you 're looking for a great location that's convenient to the theaters, Times Square, and other great tourist spots, Novotel will meet this need. If you're lookng for modest accommodations, do not expect your room to look like the promo- pictures. If you are in your room at the time the maid it making the rounds, do not expect the maid to return. Be prepared to call housekeeping. We spent as much time away from the hotel enjoying the affordable restaurants, fun tours, great bargains, terrific shows, fantastic shopping and friendly and helpful tourists. One plug for Novotel is the wonderful toiletries especially the body lotion and the little soap. These should be available for purchase in a larger size in the gift shop.

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Novotel Hotel in New York, mainly because of its location. The Novotel is a good choice for that reason, but not for much else; our room was comfortable, but ordinary in most respects and pretty expensive. We paid extra for a great view of Broadway, but the same view was free at street level. Some of the amenities that are included in most hotels anywhere else for less than half the price, like a coffee maker or continental breakfast, aren’t included at Novotel. They do, however, offer a simple breakfast for something like $16. Skip their breakfast and go to the Art Café just around the corner…their prices are very reasonable and the food is great. Go for lunch or dinner and get the cheesecake -- you’ll love it! The hotel also tried to charge us for an extra, apparently invisible person in our room and succeeded in charging us for two bottles of water that we merely moved to another shelf in the minibar. Another little irritation is having to take one elevator just to get to the lobby, then another elevator to get to the rooms. Novotel is right in the middle of everything, so it might be a good choice solely for its location, but do yourself a favor and check out the other hotels first.

We have spent our first time in NYC and we were cery impressed. The location near of Broadway and Times Sq. could not have been better. The room was very clean and big. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again.

This hotel is fantastic - right on times square with amazing views. The rooms are large by new york standards. The staff are great and can't do enough for you. The majority of people staying when we were there were French- it is defienlty orientated towards the French speakers - even the Air France Crew stay there! Beautiful though - one word of advice - dont use the room phones to dial international and dont use the internet in the busness centre - both are really, really expensive!
