“Quick trip to the city”

First, the drive in was horrendous, dump truck overturned on the Jersey Turnpike, 11 hours long. Have stayed here before and the staff and service are spectacular. Watch out for the $80 per night parking fee at e hotel. Not sure what you could even do if you wanted to.

Room Tip: Upgrade to the corner. Road work going on so stay away from the Broadway rooms if they are in the l...

We spent a long weekend at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square after our cruise.

The hotel is in the heart of the action and brings the hum and rush of New York to you. Our room was spacious by New York standards and certainly London rooms, and we had a good view over looking time square.

We were steps away from Broadway theaters and restaurants, and a few blocks from the subway. The hotel also has a cool series of glass elevators; you type in the floor on a key pad, and a computer groups the floor requests together so you don't wait around and they are quick.

Did not eat in hotel but food looked good and the view rest and diner was good as we sat and had a drink in thier watching the NY skyline rotate around us.

We will retun as also close to madison Square gardens and boxing.

Room Tip: Chose a view of Time Square as you can see NY all night long

We took our daughter to New York City for her 13th birthday. We stayed at the Marriott and we had a fantastic experience. The staff were great and Victor at the front desk was very accommodating. He allowed us early check in and gave us a room with a super view of Times Square. For your first trip to New York, stay at Times Square. The Square is outside of one hotel exit, and Juniors (best cheesecake in New York) is outside of the other exit. The hotel staff were great and our room was turned down every day during our 6 day stay. A stay to remember and a hotel that we will stay at again! Thank you!

Room Tip: Call ahead if you are celebrating a special occasion.

You can't beat the location! Right on Times Square. But you pay for it. They try to dazzle you with cool elevators and upscale looking furnishings, but in the end, this hotel doesn't deliver, at least for the average traveler like me.

Pro's
Room is huge for NYC!
Location, Location, Location

Con's
Beds sucked. They were hard and uncomfortable. For a car payment per night, I would expect a nice bed to sleep on.
$60-70 to park your car
No pool
Pay for Internet
High priced food, beverage, everything

This is NYC and things are high priced, but I will not pay this price again to stay near Times Square. I'll stay in NJ and transit in.

If you want to be in the heart of Times Square, then this hotel is perfect. Within walking distance of the major attractions, including Central Park. We stayed on two occasions in July and both times had a room overlooking Times Square which was a plus. However, there are some downers, while the rooms were cleaned, housekeeping was very ordinary in that every day there was something missing/not replaced (towels missing, glasses not replaced, coffee/tea not replenished etc). Also dined in the View restaurant which was overpriced and overrated for what was a fairly ordinary dining experience.

This was the last leg of our girls trip. We stayed in NJ for a Bon Jovi concert and then came to the Marquis 3 days later for one last night! This hotel is in the heart of Times Square so the location is perfect. You are in walking distance of all major attractions...we visited Rockafeller Center/NBC Studios, Grand Central, Broadway (I highly recommend Rock of Ages!!!), and many other touristy places.

I will say it is very expensive to stay here, but I have no regretts upon doing so. It is not somewhere I would probably stay for an entire trip but then again I am not used to the big city life. We truly enjoyed ourselves and everyone at the hotel made us feel welcome and were very helpful with all of our questions. They stored our bags before check-in because we came into the city very early on Saturday morning. Our view was okay...we did not have a view facing Times Square. Our room had darkening curtains so there was no problem with light and we never had complaints about excessive noise.

All in all...this is a great place to stay. You will have to open your pocketbook, but you will not find a better location. Also, I highly recommend eating at Guy Fieri's restaurant 2 blocks over. Delicious and reasonably priced.

I do have one recommendation for travelers...the elevators. I did my research before hand and had no problem. When you come to the elevator you will see a keypad, enter your floor number and it will tell you what elevator you need to get one. All elevators are marked so it's very simple. You will then get on the specified elevator and ride up. No buttons to push once inside. Very simple...just pay attention!

Room Tip: We stayed in 1903. We were close to the elevator but did not have a great view.

We spent 3 nights at the Marriott Marquis and had a wonderful experience. The room was very clean and tidy; and we had a fantastic view of Times Square. The hotel room was quiet and, with light-blocking curtains and comfortable beds, excellent for sleeping. The staff were courteous, informative and pleasant. When we had a slight issue with the TV, a technician responded quickly and fixed it. We would definitely consider staying there again.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for a room that looks out onto Times Square. Corner rooms are fantastic!
