“Great location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

This Marriott East Side is in a great location for touring and shopping. The front desk was friendly and efficient, and the room was well-equipped. My only complaint is that Marriott continues to charge for Internet and does not provide WiFi in the rooms. All in all a great experience!

Stayed one night at the Marriott East Side and was impressed with the staff and the service. We were greeted each time we came and went by the friendly staff. The housekeeper on our floor even stopped us to ask if we had everything we needed! The Hotel is in an older building which gives it character. We had a Cozy King Room on the 27th floor. Although the room was smaller than some are accustomed to, it was immaculately clean with a large closet. Ample room for two people with a desk, coffee stand with refrigerator below, and comfortable chair with ottoman. The bathroom was spotless and appeared to be brand new. Afternoon bar service in the lounge was prompt and friendly. Breakfast in the restaurant was very good and service was very high standard. Check-in and out was a breeze for us.

Stayed here as an alternative to the Renaissance a few blocks north. While the location isn't bad, the hotel didn't blow me away. While the room is a decent size, the bathroom was small. Overall, the room isn't terrible, but it was a little depressing having a window with no view that lets little to no light in. Convenient if you have plans to sleep in every day. The concierge lounge is fairly spacious serving your average fare, but the omelet service at breakfast on the last Wednesday of every month is nice. Too bad it isn't more frequent.

I have stayed at over 50 Marriott hotels across the world and this seemed to be the smalled room of any. Great hospitality, although 20 minutes to check in, excellent location, usual high Marriott standards.

Room Tip: Don't presume the size of the room ... ask for something with some breathing space which I am su...

Good location for midtown business. About four blocks to Grand Central Station if you want to take a train somewhere. I like to take the bus from the Airport to Grand Central; more comfortable than a taxi and cheaper ($13 from Laguardia). Nice bar in the lobby. Rooms are small but that's typical in NYC. Old fashion steam heat is a little noisey but works fine. Very clean. Bed comfortable. I paid $259 / night pre tax as part of a group.

We stayed here for our son's 21st bday. What a great surprise. Our room with two double beds was spacious and lovely. Comfy beds and very clean. Definitely would stay again. Excellent staff. So friendly!!

We had the pleasure of an exemplary front-desk staff, in particular Lucy and Denise, from the minute we arrived at this comfortable, clean, and friendly hotel. They might say they are only doing their job, but I stay in a lot of hotels, and I never receive such a warm welcome as we experienced on this weekend getaway.
Of course it was a Holiday. We were offered a wine and cheese intro to settle in with, came down to the Lobby to join a gathering of returning shoppers being welcomed with a chocolate fountain of dip-your-own-fruit. Adults and children alike were indulging...It was festive; it was friendly.
The Concierge desk was knowledgeable and helpful about the goings-on the town. He really seemed to care. However, the lounge was very pricey; next time, we'll probably find another place to have some cheer.
I definitely look forward to another stay at the East Side Marriott. The comfort zone was huge. Special thanks to Lucy and Denise. Regards, Nancy and Frank D.

Room Tip: "Corner rooms are large and sunny" - The view is magnificent !!
