“Wonderful place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

Excellent location, wonderful, responsive staff, gorgeous pool on the top floor with views of the park. By poolside (all glassed in so you can see the sky) it was warm even on one of the coldest nights of the year; what a terrific way to wind down after a long day. I went up there about 9:00 pm for a quick swim. Magical! Fabulous! The pool alone would bring me back to this hotel.
The entrance to this hotel is very close to the Carnegie Hall stage door; also right near City Center. Close access to MOMA, restaurants, Theater District, subways, everything. I was going to Lincoln Ctr daily and it was a nice walk or very short taxi ride.
My room was a bit chilly (again, NY was having a terrible cold snap) but the staff took care of that instantly and soon all was comfy. The burger place on the ground floor (a crazy and fun departure form the decor of the hotel, and sort of secretly tucked in behind curtains, like a speakeasy) makes excellent burgers and is very inexpensive. Low-priced breakfast is also available at the "Astro" diner very nearby on 6th Ave., in case you don't want to go to Norma's (in the hotel). .. One member of our party had a suite on the 39th floor, which was a perfect place for a meeting of 6 or 7 people around a table, with fresh fruit provided by the hotel. The decor is chic and jazz and silent-film videos in the elevator are fun. PS I also loved the soap and lotion (usually I hate hotel soap and lotion!).

Le Parker Meridien turned out even better than I expected. The location was perfect, close enough to everything, yet in a quiet location. The best hamburgers in town are sold in a quirky spot past the lobby. The rooms are elegant and spotless and have super comfortable beds. To top this off, the TV image quality is incredible. Room service is prompt and courteous. Best of all the staff was sweet and very helpful. I felt pampered and special. Great place.

I've been in LPM numerous times over the last five years. Each time it's the same wonderful experience. Extremely friendly end welcoming staff. Beautiful hotel, spacious rooms, nice pool and fitness on the 42nd floor overlooking Central Park. Choose a room with Central Park view on the higher floors. Excellent location. Central Park, Broadway, the Met, Lincoln, MoMa, 5th Ave at your feet. I don't have to consider, I always choose LPM.

Room Tip: Go for the higher floors (30th and higher) with wonderful view on Central Park.

Stayed at Le Parker Meridien 19th to 23rd January 2013 whilst on holiday in New York with my mum. The location of the hotel is excellent and the checkin process was straightforward so a great start. We were initially given a room on the 7th floor overlooking various buildings and a Starbucks however within 24 hours the toilet in our room became blocked twice! On both occasions the hotel were quick to send somebody to fix the toilet but after the 2nd time we asked to move rooms and to be fair there was no problem with this and somebody was sent upstairs to move our bags straight away. The hotel staff were very understanding and accommodating but having to repack all our bags and switch rooms at 6 a.m. wasn't ideal although I appreciate these things happen. We were moved to a room on the 25th floor overlooking Central Park which was a nicer room than the previous one so that was a bonus but little things about the rooms in this hotel were odd... Firstly at night the rooms were very very hot (even with the heating switched off) and the windows could not be opened without calling reception and asking them to send somebody to do this. Also, in both rooms there were no electrical plugs near the mirrors so no option to plug in hair dryer/hair straightener and be able to see what you were doing?? This seemed very strange.

Finally, when checking out I was told that the hotel's computer system would be down all day so I wouldn't be able to get a copy of my bill or indeed be told what would be on the bill. I was asked to fill out a form with my email addresses and details of any extras I expected to see on my bill and they would email me a copy when the systems were back up and running. I did get an emailed copy the following day once back in the UK and it was all fine, however, this wasn't ideal as if there had been any bill queries it would have been much easier to sort these face to face rather than from a different country.

On our last morning we had breakfast at Norma's in the hotel and although the food was good it was way overpriced at £70 for 1 x blueberry pancakes, 1 x French toast, 2 coffees and 1 orange juice ( and yes that is 70 British pounds and not dollars!!).

The positives of our stay were the fantastic location, very quiet rooms and lovely hotel staff who were very friendly and helpful despite the issues we had..

We have enjoyed the Meridien many times in the past when staying in midtown. Our most recent 2 night stay did not quite meet our expectations. If you want a hotel that is centrally located for shopping, theatre, dining, and museums this is a good location. We walked to almost all of our destinations.

While the lobby area and architecture of the hotel are quite nice, the rooms are ready for a makeover. For some reason our room was so hot, we needed to keep our window open in the middle of January. The temperature can not be controlled from your room. Dining options within the hotel are very limited. Great breakfast and burgers but not too much beyond that.

If you are traveling with children you will definitely enjoy the pool. Not too many hotels in NYC have one.

We may wait for renovations at Le Parker Meridien before we decide to stay again.

I travel to NYC several times a year. This hotel is in the perfect location. Close to Central Park, 5th Avenue, Broadway...subway on corner....beautiful bar in lobby....dive burger joint hidden behind curtain in lobby....cheapest/best burger in town! Rooms are large and clean with extra seating to work/couch beds and large bathrooms. Quiet, never heard anyone in hallway. Great exercise facility downstairs and food bar. Love love the DryBar located downstairs for a blowout and manicure shop in basement as well. This hotel cannot be beat.

Room Tip: I always ask for higher floor in NYC to help reduce noise level.

Wow. I don't think you could find a better location in NYC (both near attractions and close to 3 different subway lines). Add to that the upscale decor ( rooms are definitely a notch above other 4 star hotels in NYC) and you have a winning combination. This will definitely be my first choice next time we visit New York.
