“A gem in a fab location...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013 via mobile

Staying (unfortunately) for only one night, we arrived before official check-in. We were, however, greeted warmly and told a room was available and we were upgraded at no charge to a lovely suite! It is a narrow hotel, with c 25 floors but only 5 or 6 rooms per floor so while it feels a little 'tight' on space in the corridor, the room was generous in size (relative to some NYC hotel rooms) with a traditional feel to it and really comfy beds. The staff were friendly, the free (continental) breakfast was simple but more than adequate and the location is superb. I would definitely recommend this hotel. In addition, on checking out, we were asked if we wanted a hotel car to the airport. Given it was a Friday evening (& raining), we decided to take it even though it was a little more expensive than a cab. It was well worth it though as we were treated to a very comfortable ride to the airport in a spacious Lexus with a true gentleman of a driver (Vincente) - a relaxing finish to our trip.

We booked our anniversary stay for 3 nights using SniqueAway.com. The price was right and we thought the location would be good. Boy was that understated! Our room was huge compared to what we had expected, the location was fabulous and the staff was sooo friendly. We will definitely look to re book here if we ever come back to NYC. We had a great trip and this hotel was part of the reason why.

We loved this hotel, great location for us near central park and close to some great restaurants, we found the staff really friendly and when we had a problem with our electrics (they didn't work for a couple of hrs) they were really helpful and offered us an alternative bathroom if we needed it (as it was early in the morning) and a complimentary voucher of $40 and lovely pen, the breakfast the hotel includes is really lovely too and great when you have children. All i all a great stay thank you The Blakely.

We stayed here over the weekend (husband and 9 year old daughter). It's like walking into your own upscale NYC apartment. The lobby is small but rich-feeling and the staff is amazing. They address you by name and are so helpful. We stayed in a suite, our family members stayed in a regular room, so I've seen both. Extremely clean, very lovely, comfortable rooms. Each room has a small kitchenette with mini refrigerator, freezer and a microwave, dishes and glasses, keurig. This makes things so easy to grab sodas or snacks in the room. Granite countertops, wood flooring, comfy beds . Rooms are a nice size for NYC. There is a passable free continental breakfast...nothing fancy, but it does the job. (coffee, OJ, grapefruit juice, milk, cereal, cut fruit, bagels, English muffins, bread, pastries) The location is perfect. Walking distance (with a child) from the theater district, central park, 5th avenue. Close to subway if you use that. (end of block). We will definitely stay here again.

This review is a bit overdue, but the Blakely was so great that I want to be sure that I describe the experience. We stayed there over President's weekend on a super deal through SniqueAway. The room was huge by NYC standards. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom is large. We were so comfortable, we almost didn't want to leave the room. But, the location is perfect for exploring. MOMA is close by and Times Square is within easy walking distance. In fact, we walked everywhere and only took a cab to and from Penn Station. One caution, without a deal on price, the Blakely might be too expensive.

Room Tip: The curtains are thick so the street noise was minimal.

An easy 2 blocks north to Central Park! And about 10mins walk to Times Square! Hotel is very clean and our room was nice...cosy. About the same size as the majority of rooms in NYC. Hotel staff were very friendly and organized anything we needed. There are plenty of places to get great food within a close walking distance.
Will surely be back when in NYC again

We loved our stay at the Blakely. We were upgraded to a suite for our 4 night stay. The extra room was a luxury. Noise from street on the 4th floor was fine...we could hear traffic, but it adds to the NYC experience! Bed was super comfy and room extra clean. Really no complaints! Concierge and front desk staff were super nice and helpful the entire time. Breakfast was a great bonus. Great location. Would definitely recommend and will stay here again. Thank you Blakely staff for a great time!!
