First we showed up super early on 6/22 thinking at best we would just be able to store our bags. However, not only were we able to check in we were upgraded and we received a voucher for a glass of wine. Thank you Dennis! Next, the room was amazing. Huge for any city, clean and more than deserving of 5 stars. So after a long hot day we get back and find out the shower was to die for. I actually can't stand shower stalls without tubs because I feel like they are usually too small and awkward but this was perfect. They also had a little vanity area which is perfect when you are sharing a room. No need to fight over the mirror time. Lol. I thought for sure they would eventually say no to something so when checking out we asked to split the payment. Instead, we were told no problem at all. Last, compared to other similar options this was affordable and that is a big plus. I am very picky so I did my research. This IS the best deal. I would totally stay there again.

This hotel is absolutely amazing! The staff are professional, friendly, and helpful (Shane is stellar!). Chris (manager) made sure that our stay was perfect. The lobby is upscale and beautiful. We had a spacious room with 2 super comfy queen beds. The bathroom has been completely remodeled to include a lovely, deep soaking tub. The location is perfect... just a short stroll from Grand Central. This is our new home away from home in NYC. We will stay here every visit!

This hotel is a must stay for the value. We only stayed one night and wished we had booked for longer. We will put this hotel on top of our list for future stays in NYC.

Hotel rooms are big, modern, very clean and bed is very comfortable. Large flat screen I think may have been a 47" wrapped around white leather was sharp. Bathroom was small but very up to date and modern. Hallway with vanity and small walk in closet lead to large bedroom.

I would have rated this a five star, however the hallway was very noisey and you could here everything in other rooms. The elevator makes two dings and is very high pitchy noise that I heard all night. If they makes these fixes, this is an awsome hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for room away from elevator and as with most hotels corner room is bigger, but other rooms are l...

Dear lgp112,

Thank you so much for sharing your recent experience at The Tuscany! We are delighted that you enjoyed our spacious, modern rooms and amenities. It is wonderful to hear that we are top of list for a future stay. We certainly regret that your experience was disrupted by a noise in the hallway. Our guest room doors are beautiful, but turned out a bit weightier than expected, and we are working on quieting their operation. And though the “dinging” of the elevator is a requirement, we will be sure to speak with our engineering department to determine if we can dampen or lower its frequency in the come weeks. We would love to have to back, and it would be our pleasure to make your second visit even better than the first.

Amazing stay at The Tuscany. I never really write reviews, but since I found this hotel based off of reviews I felt as though I should return the favor to a future guest. I was so impressed with everything from the service to the room itself. Clean, beautiful room, comfortable bed-- what more could you ask for? It was the perfect walking distance to everything we did in the city, and very close to Grand Central. I would definitely recommend this to friends and family. 110% satisfied, I would love to stay here again!

My husband & I had our first trip to NYC in May and we booked to stay 1 week at The Tuscany purely based on our own research - we are glad we did!

Location...The hotel is really well located just off Park Ave, its near to Grand Central station, Times Sq, NYC public library and some really great eating spots. You can pretty much walk to anywhere from this hotel, but having Grand Cen. station so near, you can subway it all over NYC with ease. The hotel is in a great neighbourhood, there is no riff-raff. There is a near by convenience store, hairdresser and laundromat just across the road which was handy!

The hotel & rooms... The entrance to the hotel is nice and inviting, the newly done renovations certainly give it a really cool vibe and feel. Our room was a little smaller than what the booking confirmed, but the view from our window, which was of the Chrysler building made us want to stay. The reception did offer for us to move nearly half way through our trip, but truth be told we weren't all that fussed and couldn't be bothered unpacking to then unload all our stuff again. Our bed unfortunately was a double & not queen or king which was a bummer.

Service... Shane on the front desk and Carlos at the door were just brilliant! They were always so friendly upon entering and leaving, also willing to give us some great advice on what to see and do, great eating spots etc. they were very hospitable, you couldn't fault their service!

We will be back...ABSOLUTELY!!! Funny enough leaving NY and heading to Mexico (our next stop) we found the United Airlines magazine to have a feature article on the hotel which was great to see. It's actually one of the first hotels in NYC to have telephones in the bathroom and back in the day Audrey Hepburn has stayed there & George Clooney has rumoured to have stayed there too!

I was visiting the City for business and needed a place to stay in midtown near Grand Central (and within travel policy). I came across The Tuscany, read the great reviews, and booked it.

Upon arrival I was really blown away:

Staff: The front desk staff could not have been friendlier and everyone made sure we had an excellent stay - even just for the one night.

Rooms: The rooms were huge - not just for New York. I know it was recently renovated, but they did an incredible job with great bathroom amenities, a huge flat screen TV, plenty of outlets to charge all of my various electronics, and a very comfortable King bed.

Bar: Though we did not eat the hotel, the bar area was very nice with a friendly staff and a good drink selection.

Location: The location is perfect, especially if you are visiting midtown, and Grand Central is only a short walk away.

Stayed here after booking through hotels.com due to last minute need for a room. Lobby looks great, actual room that I was checked into was nice enough although there were some things I found strange for the star rating this hotel is assigned. The room has a mini fridge which is "on" but is completely empty. Also, the room does not have robes or slippers but then offers high end products in the bathroom (molton brown).

Because there are renovations ongoing (despite the claims that renovations were done in December 2012) only 1 elevator was available for guest use. The second elevator is dedicated to construction crews - there is plywood protecting the interior of the second elevator.

I was put in a room immediately adjacent to a housekeeping closet. The door does nothing to block hallway noise and I heard the housekeeper from the moment she arrived until I checked out. Utility closet door constantly opening and closing - not a restful sleep at all.

Dear areviewFlorida,

Thank you for sharing your recent experience at The Tuscany. We sincerely apologize for the disruptions and shortcomings you experienced during your visit, and if you are so inclined, I would like to speak with you in detail about your visit. Though we are still putting the finishing touches on the final rooms on the highest floors of the hotel, we do our very best to ensure a seamless guest experience and we regret that we did not live up to those standards during your visit. It is absolutely unacceptable that your stay was disrupted by your proximity to one of our linen closets. We do find our solid oak doors beautiful, however their weight has proved to be a problem with occasional noise—a problem we are working to address. In the meantime, we are working with our housekeeping team to ensure that we are always and everywhere attentive to minimizing noise impacts for our guests. Should you be so inclined, please feel free to reach out to me at chriss@stgilesnewyork.com or by calling 212.592.8877. Thank you again for sharing your experience, as it allows us an opportunity to improve.

Sincerely,
