“Best Doorman in NYC”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2014

I stay at 60 Thompson regularly and Iove the new renovation. All the staff are so great and in particular, Adrian, is truly the best! He is friendly, helpful, always on top of things, and super resourceful. He is a great face of the hotel when he is manning the front door.

Booked through Hotel Tonight for an overnight with husband. Called in advance (Karla) about what construction we would see and hear. Was told only lobby impacted. Also asked if King was available on check in if we could request complimentary upgrade (since we sleep on one at home and not sure about a Queen). Was told based on availability and up to the discretion of the front desk. We arrived to this trendy hotel and began checking in with reception agent who said it was her first time checking anyone in. The gentleman who she requested assistance from regarding our room was in general unsmiling, unfriendly and unaccomodating. Apparently room census was actually too low to be accommodating of the king bed. Too many of those rooms available! First room overwhelming smell of paint. Different staff switched us to higher floor that had been painted a few weeks prior (much better) but at midnight climbing into bed I was less than pleased with the hairs on the sheets. Yuk! See photos. Otherwise the rooms seemed clean and modern. The rooftop bar had a lovely view. Hallway under construction and was stripped of wallpaper and unattractive, but I am certain it is probably beautiful by now. The men at the doors in front of hotel and upstairs at bar were friendly. It would be so nice if the front desk would smile and say hello as guests pass. At checkout they said they love reviews on tripadvisor. I then told them about the sheets and she apologized. It seems like this hotel could be great with just a little more effort. A smiling welcome, an accommodation that costs nothing, a genuine interest in a guests enjoyment of their stay. This place has potential.

Dear Laurie I,

Thank you for taking the time to write about your stay. Please accept my apologies for the unsatisfactory check-in process and room assignment. Our staff are usually very cheerful and attentive. As for your Hotel Tonight reservation, it is automatically booked in our basic room category, the Queen Superior, and guests have the option upon arrival to select from the available larger rooms for an upgrade fee. I’m glad we were able to find a room where the fresh paint was no longer detectable, and regret that the bed did not meet our typically pristine standard. If you ever have any such concerns, please report them to the front desk and we will do everything we can to address them.

Sixsty Soho is perfectly located in Soho, few steps away from the shopping and restaurant area, walking distance from the Village. Very friendly and helpful staff (thanks Olympia for you assitance!). The roof bar is amazing, very nice view on downtown skyline.
Highly recommanded. Just a note: the lobby (which has always been the nice part of this hotel) is under renovation and is not accessible. This should be better indicated on the web site and it would be appreciated if the rates could take into account this fact.

Dear Fabrizio P,

It’s true – our location could hardly be more perfect. SoHo is a wonderful neighborhood for daytime and nightlife activities, and our rooftop offers an unexpectedly gorgeous view of Manhattan. I’m glad our staff was able to be of assistance, and will pass on your acclaim to Olivia. Our lobby is now complete, so we hope you’ll return to The SIXTY sometime in the future!

I LOVE this new Sixty SoHo Hotel! The staff were super friendly and always made us feel special. The rooms have recently been remodeled and I love how spacious the rooms were considering everything is small in NYC. The hotel is clean and quiet. The location is great as well. The next time I visit NYC, I'm staying at this hotel for sure! I'd recommend this my family and friends too!

Stayed at a king suite with balcony that opens to sweeping views from empire state to freedom tower. Bed was comfortable. Great minibar....none of those mini bottles...they have the "real" stuff. Bathroom was HUGE! Rooftop bar was very happening on a Saturday night. Service was cool, definitely boutique!

The hotel is conveniently located in Soho and the room was bright with a double window. All the staff was quite helpful and cheery and the roof top deck was delightful on a breezy evening. A couple issues: the sheets... they did not smell fresh and clean, especially the pillow cases and I believe internet in the rooms should be free. Also, I'd have liked to have a docking station for my iPhone.

Dear JBrady_785,

We greatly appreciate your feedback. Guest service is a priority here, so it’s wonderful to know that your interactions with staff were consistently positive. We’re very glad that you had the chance to experience a perfect summer night on our rooftop, A60. Although in-room wifi usually comes with a fee, our second-level lobby reopened recently and serves as a comfortable, quiet place to take advantage of the complimentary wifi network available there. I’m very sorry that the sheets were unsatisfactory. If you have any concerns like this in the future, please report them to the front desk and we will have your bed remade. When planning room updates, we’ll keep in mind that the absence of iPod docks in the room posed an inconvenience for you. In the meantime, we’re able to charge guests’ devices at the front desk. We hope you’ll return to The SIXTY Hotel in SoHo, and we promise to make every effort to ensure a more excellent stay.

We stayed here for three nights in February. We stayed in a King Size room and it was very comfortable. If I am back in NYC I would stay here again. One of the best parts was the turn down service with little brownies. Yum.
