“Will definitely be back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2009

My husband and I stayed at the Iroquois for 2 nights over the weekend of October 23-25. We have definitely found our "home away from home" while in New York City. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the beds are to die for. The mattresses and Frette linens are unbelievable and as another reviewer said "it felt like sleeping on a cloud". Amazing. The location is absolutely perfect for nearly everything you want to do. We only took a cab to the Guggenheim but then walked back, stopping along the way. We also took a cab when the torrential rains came but otherwise would have just walked everywhere. We didn't try the restaurant, opting to eat at the Red Flame just down the block for breakfast and our usual favorites for dinner. However, we will try Triomphe the next time we're in town due to the fabulous reviews it gets here. You will enjoy your stay here if you like location, location, location and a truly lovely boutique hotel with the best beds ever!

A friend of myself and I stayed in the Iroquois last weekend. We loved the location of this hotel - if you are in town to see a play you wont be dissapointed. There is even a nice restaurant called Triomphe inside the hotel, best food we ever had. We booked a deluxe room, which was facing the 44th street. Our room had a very nice bathroom, and let me tell you, the beds are like clouds! They offer complimentary coffee in the morning and iced tea during the day which is a very nice treat.

Late at night we had some issues with getting our arline tickets printed out so we contacted the front desk. We were so amazed by the receptionist Andy, who provided us with the information we needed. But all staff members were very respectful and helpful to us at any time.

Overall the Iroquois is the place to be if you are looking for a perfect located Hotel, nice staff, a good restaurant and good sized rooms.

We can't wait to stay in the Iroquois again.

Came to the city for one night to celebrate my "not 50th" birthday. Upon checking in we were informed that we had been upgraded to a suite for the occasion. The suite was lovely and included a living room, large bedroom, dining room, kitchen, walk in closet and bathroom. As mentioned before, the bathroom was tiny but included a stall shower and a jetted tub. The suite was so nice that we decided to skip our shopping trip (it was also pouring down rain) and stay in the room to read and watch college football. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant, Triomphe, which was fabulous. The service there was great and we walked to the theater in plenty of time. Two small complaints--the wood (?) floors in the suite were very slick even in rubber soled shoes and a morning newspaper would have been a nice touch. We will return to The Iroquois.

This hotel was nice but i would not stay here again...the rooms are very small even compared to NYC standards but the most surprising thing is that there is NO vanity or anywhere to place cosmetics and hair dryer, curling iron while getting ready which I think is quite important. The concierge was very nice and so was most of the front desk staff. Sharing the small elevator with the days trash, was not exceptionally "fun". Personally for the same price I would stay next door at the Sofitel. Bed were very comfortable and hotel was clean

Here's what I experienced this past week after staying 6 nights with a friend from abroad:
the good ...
great central location for tourists and business; beds extremely comfortable - both mattress & linens; charming small intimate old style hotel; friendly & helpful staff; free wi-fi throughout and/or use of (2) computers in library near front door; elegant restaurant on premises for breakfast, lunch, or dinner; free 24 hr gym with newer cardio equipment, dry sauna, & whirlpool bathtub; free NYTimes at each guest rm; automatic turndown service with milk chocolates; molton brown toiletries; in room safe; large flat screen TV; Frette bathrobes & linens.
the bad ...
only 1 small elevator working for this 12+ floors & took a week for the other broken elevator to be fixed and back in use, so had to share with maintanence, housekeeping, rug/renovation repairmen, guests, suitcases, room service, management; very expensive ($400) for 1 queen bed in small room and no discount or special amenity offered to compensate for broken elevator; no slippers provided automatically - had to ask for pair - perhaps this is less wasteful? One employee had breath that smelled like alcohol in morning - not a good impression / professional. Toiletry item 'disappeared' from outer pocket of my backpack that I stored with concierge on day of checkout-departure. Wi-fi reception inconsistent in room. Rooms dark visually due to heavy large dark furniture and furnishings in room including dark window blinds and lamp shades (not opaque) directing light downward ...no ceiling light ... so even during the day the room was a bit dark for reading/computer work. Gym small & limited, but better than most hotels of similar size.

My wife and I stayed at the Iroquois for our wedding anniversary recently and it is simply one of the best hotels we have stayed at. The hotel has an excellent location on 44th Street, between 5th & 6th Avenues and is convenient for all the major sights in the city. We had a deleux room fronting 44th which had all the mod-cons you would come to expect and was larger than we expected, having read that most hotel rooms in the city are on the small side (circa 200 sqft). The service was frindly, courteous and excellent throughout our stay. The conceige were both knowledgable and helpfully, helping us to secure bookings at 2 top restaurants. We didn't use the fitness centre or sauna, but both looked good. However, when it comes to finding a good restaurant, look no further than the Triomphe, which is part of the hotel. We dined here on our last night, opting for the 6 course tasting menu which was great value for money, and is without doubt, the best restauant we have ever eat in - and I say that having eaten in some top class restaurants. If you are looking for a modern, trendy hotel with swimming pool etc, then the Iroquois is not for you. But , if like us, you were looking for a boutique style elegant hotel with all the amenities you could want, then The Iroquois NY is the one for you. We will definately stay there again next time we visit New York.

I am delighted to hear you enjoyed your recent stay with us! The intimate settings at the Iroquois and our restaurant Triomphe make them wonderful places for anniversaries, and we were happy to help you celebrate.

Congratulations again and we hope to welcome you back next year!

Have just returned from a weeks stay (previously stayed last year) everything was as we remembered, all the staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are comfortable and are large enough, contrary to what others say, they are well appointed , the bathroom was large, clean and lots of fluffy towels and Molton Brown showers gels etc. The hotel is in a perfect location and whilst I agree the views are not excellent we did not go to sit and look out of the windows all day, if that is what you want pay double and have a room in a hotel overlooking Central Park. Go to this hotel if you want to have the personal touch and actually feel welcomed.
