I guess I had higher hopes for this hotel, even though it is only a 2.5-3 star rating. The lobby is fantastic, nice quality finishes and atmosphere. Staff were nice and helpful, although they seemed a little busy and rushed through my questions. Location is great.
I know that I read this in the reviews, but the rooms are small, very small. We were upgraded for free to a larger room (I think just the basic with a "Queen" bed), I can't imagine what the smaller room looked like. I've stayed in Rome, and these are by far smaller. Small closet, no dresser, my wife and I had to put clothes under the bedside tables, or just leave in our luggage, which we also had no where to put. If I wanted to hit the bathroom at night, I had to climb over my luggage. Seriously. Again, nice quality finishes though, although the floor was pretty uneven, and a particular low spot would loudly squeak every time you walked over it.
The bathroom was okay, pretty small (no surprise). Absolutely no place to put toiletries. Shower was adequate, never had problems with hot water.
While there is a flat screen tv in the room, the quality of the cable/satellite feed was horrible. A/C worked great, almost too cold at times.
And yes, there is a club on the ground floor. We were on the 5th floor, and after coming in each night around midnight, we could definitely hear the music in our room. I am inclined to think that the hotel puts more emphasis and priority on the club than the guest rooms (the club looked really nice by the way).
Again, had high hopes for this hotel. My wife and I are young, urban, modern tastes. Just didn't come away satisfied.
