“Bad Breakfast, Good Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2011

Located in 47th street in the corner of 8th avenue, the hotel has a great location because it is in the heart of the area of the theaters and only a block from Times Square (the soul of New York for Tourists).
In the other hand we have a hotel with a poor breakfast (if you want to eat something you have to drive in the lobby of the hotel early in the morning because after 8:00 AM it will be difficult to find something to eat). But don't worry, you have a Starbuck in the other side of the street if you want to pay for it.
The rooms were exactly what I expected, not so big but clean and quiet.
If you ask me if I will return to the same hotel, I say YES.
If you are planning to go to New York with your family, this is a good choice for you to stay.

Room Tip: If possible, ask for a room in the upper floor - there you have a more spacious room to stay

The location is excellent, the staff really friendly and helpful, the room very clean, and one of the few in New York that offers breakfast and free wi-fi in the rooms.
Otherwise the room is tiny, more than two suitcases is impossible to circulate through the room. Breakfast is served in the lobby and there are no tables to sit. It is best to take it to the room. The air conditioning is too noisy.
But for those who need the room only to sleep, that's fine.
After all, you're in NY!

The only negative aspect is the tiny room. Perfect location, Clean, breakfast included, reasonable price and good staff. Perfect for a single or a couple without kids. Walking distance from all major attractions.

I believe if you pay a little bit more for a hotel you will get "better bang for your buck." I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with my husband, although the location was awesome the room on the other hand, could have been better.

As previously mentioned in the reviews the room is very tiny and cramped. I would not recommend this hotel if you are travelling with a family, the room is ok for 2 people at most. There is little space to walk in the room, I would have to climb over the bed to get to the bathroom or door. Breakfast was non-existent it was just a shelf of juice, coffee, possibly toast, not much to choose from.

The hotel room could use some updating:
- The bathroom: Although the sink looked updated, the showerhead/tub could use some renos and spots of rust were noticed. The shower curtains had stains and looked "old". The overall space in the bathroom was small, the toilet was right near the door, so you had to "squeeze in" before closing the door.
- The carpet floor was just average and dirty.
- The room : Air condition was the one where you put on the window sill, I noticed stains on the walls and cracks.
- The hallway is narrow and quite humid cause the aircondition does not flow though the whole hallway.
- One day the cleaing staff failed to clean our room, and when asked, reminded us that they could not clean it since they were leaving at 5 o'clock. Even though we had been out of the room most of the day and it was still not cleaned.
- Be careful with your valuables because our camera came up missing and the last time we saw it was in the room. When we discovered the camera was missing we had to call the hotel several times before getting a response that they didn't find the camera.

I would ONLY recommend this hotel, just for the location. It is walking distance to most things and does not take long to get to your destination, but if you are looking for comfort, this would not be the hotel to book at. For me, I would have spent a little bit extra to be comfortable and have space to put my luggage. I guess it was just a place to sleep, but the bed wasn't that comfortable either.

The rooms are extremely small! Now yes, if you've ever stayed in NYC you know ALL of the hotels generally have much smaller rooms, but this hotel is even smaller than average. However, this hotel is one of the cleanest hotels I've stayed in. They take pride in being a small hotel that provides its guests with the utmost in cleanliness. Overall its an excellent location close to a lot of theaters and restaurants. If you don't mind a small space definitely book it. Also- absolutely NO signs of bed bugs which is a huge plus in NYC.

The rooms were awfully small, but just as clean as could be - the bathroom was sparkling and not a stray hair or dustball in sight! Didn't spend much time in the room anyway, so I thought this was a great value. Staff was friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was a nice touch. Not the best a/c which was probably made a bit worse by the fact that I as on the top floor in July!

You can't beat the price and location of this place. It is up from Time Square enough to be quieter but still in easy walking distance to everything you want to see. Gray Line tours is right next door and stops are right on the corner for their hop on hop off service. The rooms are small but very clean and have everything you need. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Only bad part is elevator is slow and one day was broken.
