“Beautiful view from pool”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

Good location, good services, unfortunately our room faced a brick wall but otherwise the rooms were clean and a good size, we had a little problem with the heating being turned up so high and we couldn't control it and didn't sleep for 2 nights from the heat, the manager comped us 1 nights stay so that was good, I would stay there again as its great value in a good enough location.

I stayed at this hotel with my sister and 2 friends and can actually say that we had a great time at this hotel, the rooms were clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful even the restaurant food was exceptional, one fault was that me and my sister kept getting static shocks on the metal door handles in our room which was very annoying! But all in all I will definitely recommend this hotel great value for money :-)

I got snowed in with a friend at the Skyline Hotel and had a fantastic time. The room was clean, pretty generic, and incredibly large for an NYC hotel--especially given the rather low price (it was winter--the price goes up significantly in the spring). Given the weather we didn't get out a lot, but the neighborhood seemed fun and interesting. But best of all was the salt-water heated pool--a great way to spend a blizzard.

We stay here every time we're in NYC and have never been disappointed. Spacious, clean, attractive rooms. Comfortable beds and friendly staff. Short walk to many Hell's Kitchen restaurants. Parking garage on site gives discount to hotel guests. The indoor pool makes it a unique choice. We'll be back!

We have just returned from our second visit to New York and the brilliant Skyline Hotel. I had e-mailed a few weeks before our visit to request a high floor room and mentioned we had visited previously. Check in was very quick and we were given a room, 841, on the 8th (top) floor. We opened the door and then for 5 minutes all I could say was OMG! The room was huge! 2 King size beds, 2 arm chairs, a desk, a dresser, 2 bedside cabinets, large wardrobe with safe, huge flat screen TV and a fridge. Then I went into the bathroom, WOW, his and hers basins and a door through to the loo and a walk in shower big enough for a football team! Our room on the first trip had been big and comfortable but this was totally unexpected. When we were next in reception we were asked if we liked our room, aparently as we had contacted them and had visited before we were given the room that the General Manager liked to stay in when at the Hotel. Our friends who were with us were given a really nice room on the 5th floor too. The bar/restaurant had been refurbished really well since we were last here, we were given vouchers for a free drink each and used them the first night, the local beer Samual Adams is a really nice drink. The pool is fantastic, I really wished I had brought my swimwear, a life guard was on duty at all times we went up, and the view is fantastic. Please take your swimwear, no better way to rejuvinate after the streets of New York. The hotel is situated on the cormer of 49th and 10th Avenue. It is a ten minute walk from Times Square and around the same from Central Park. The Intrepid and the New York Water Taxi are equally ten minutes away. Several subway stations are just a few minutes walk. There are 2 deli's across the road, we likes Rameses on the corner of 48th opposite best, great bacon and egg rolls in the morning, hot chocolate, tea or coffee. I really think that it would be difficult to beat this hotel unless you were to spend silly money. The concierge was great help and booked us a SUV transfer to the airport as there were 5 of us and seemed to help everyone out but other than the transport we never used him. I really cannot recommend this hotel enough, if we are lucky enough to return to New York again I would not consider any other hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a high room looking out onto 10th Avenue
