“Great hotel, nice rooms and queit location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013

Nice hotel , rooms had two double beds and were spacious, clean and well looked after.
Quick efficient check in and nice staff.
Hotel has a shop, restaurant ,bar and gym. Each level has either a soda machine or alternatively an ice machine.
Location is ten minutes from times square ir ten to fifteen from port authority bus terminal.

Rooms have shower/ bath. Filter coffee machine restocked daily. 40 inch lcd tv with 50 channels.
Beds are comfortable and there is achoice of pillows.restaurant us nice but nothing overly special. Bar food is good gotham sandwich is really nice and filling.

Pluses rooms, location, cleanliness.friendly staff

Negatives price of food and drink. Some niose during night as toilet flushes are loud.

Best tip Book south tower when requesting room as rooms are being upgraded and south is nearly complete whereas north not starting til jan 14

Overall would recommend and would stay again if visiting NYC

Also to note taxi fare from JFK is flat fare of 52 bucks to any hotel in manhattan so no need to panic about being caught by taxi driver when arriving

Room Tip: Choose south tower when booking as hotel being upgraded and south tower is nearly complete north not...

Stayed there for 9 nights, a little dated but in the process of being updated. Nice bar area and Restaurant with good menu choices. Very clean, staff were friendly and helpful, close to restaurants, major tourist attractions and shops. A short walk to buses and Subway.

Stayed here one night on business trip. Location is ok but not great, it's certainly not in the main tourist area. Not that many decent looking restaurants or bars around so stayed in hotel all night. Room ok but showing its age. Bar diner area service was good but loud crap music was irritating. No major complaints apart from the price but don't think I'd stay here again.

I stayed here for 8 nights from the 11th of March. The room was great, comfortable beds, we were on a higher level so we didn't get much noise from the street. Easy to get a taxi from out the front. A bit far to the subway when it is freezing cold outside but we didn't mind too much.
Only downfall is that we struggled every morning to find somewhere decent for breakfast in the vicinity. We ending up getting the subway down to Greenwich Village for breakfast when we could.
The room doesn't have a safe which we were a bit worried about but New York seems to be a pretty safe place and ended up having no problems at all.
The came in and cleaned our room everyday which was so nice. The room was comfortable and clean.
There is also no fridge in the room.
Free wifi was great as we were only able to contact family through wifi so that was a nice bonus.
I would stay here again. But I think if I traveled to NYC again I would probably stay downtown as it is less catered to tourists.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor so you get less street noise.

We experienced a great stay for our recent weekend in NYC! The location is convenient for walking NYC or one can connect with the metro system at Columbus Circle. We found the staff to be helpful and our room to be clean, well appointed, and provided all the amenities we required. We booked the hotel through Hotwire so had no idea what we would get for a mid-town hotel at the price we were willing to pay. We were very pleased.

stayed 2 nights at the Holiday Inn Midtown on 57th street. The room was of a good size, location perfect.. a ten minute walk to Times Square. The bathroom needs a bit sprucing up, some problem with the drainage other wise it was great value for money.

Okay for a couple of days on a school tour, but not up to scratch at all. There was a constant water problem. The room was stuffy. Every morning they give the same breakfast. The first morning was fine, but after two days it became obvious that they reuse and it was not fresh anymore.
