Three of us spent three nights at Hotel Beacon in mid March. The apartment configuration was effective for us, and the updated old style was comforting. We liked the closeness of the Metro plus the wonderful front desk (Isa Altmonte, Assistant Manager Eryk Gorski), bell cap (Omar), Doorman Randy, concierge Kenny and Ryan who recommended Viand and the sausage and also recommended Patsy's Pizza.....YUM! Having the Viand next door was perfect for all meals. Happy Hour at the Beacon bar with its very modern décor relaxed us. We hope to stay at Hotel Beacon again when we are visiting NYC, and maybe even enjoy a performance at the Beacon Theatre.

Room Tip: We were on the 7th floor front and didn't notice any noise. Watching the traffic and people go b...

Could not have picked a better location with this hotel, it is in an extremely safe area that is quieter than staying in Times Square but still within walking distance of the hustle and bustle. It is right by a subway station, Central Park, The American Natural History Museum and a nice walk to see the Hudson River. This hotel is very comfortable and the little kitchen area in the room was invaluable. The room was large warm and clean and a really nice base to come back to. Right across the road is a fabulous grocery store that also sells hot food and we kept the fridge well stocked with goodies and beer. There is a cafe right next door called Viand that opens at 6 am for breakfast and we would recommend it, the food was freshly cooked and staff were attentive and we thought very reasonably priced. We stayed at the hotel for 10 days in January and would definitely stay again. We loved our stay in New York and that was in part thanks to this hotel and its staff. One tip the bar is rather expensive but they do a happy hour but make sure you pay before it ends as even if you ordered your drinks prior to the happy hour if you pay after you get charged the full price!!

Completely good value for New York. Loved the location on the upper west side, good service, nicely appointed rooms. The 1 bedroom apartment was brilliant, very large, small kitchen but had everything you would need. Would come back here in a heartbeat.

This Hotel is well situated for business. Stayed a few nights (about a week) in spring 2013. Enjoyed my stay. I ate no breakfast but i had my cookware and did my food when i wanted. more like an apartment yet its just a room. I enjoyed it. situated near cheap stores for food as well. so u can always buy fresh to cook or buy and warm in yo microwave.
Not to mention the fun around the beacon theatre.
I loved my stay here.
hotel was on time to call cabs and all was enjoyed. very supportive.

Room Tip: All side seem to face beautiful sides of manhattan. But higher up is better for your unblocked view...

If you glitz and glamor, like a Westin Hotel, don't stay here. This hotel was so cozy and warm, kind of like my grandmother's apartment. We stayed for 4 days and I felt like I was going home each time. Decor was period decor from the 50's (I think). The accommodation was apartment-like, (the building used to be an apartment building) with a tiny kitchenette, a sweet comfortable living room, a small but nice bedroom, a hallway with closets, a tiny bathroom and some cool art. The bed room had 2 double beds and the living room had a pull out sofa, so three adults stayed very comfortably. The staff were warm and friendly and the service was good. There was a very decent restaurant next door which was convenient for eating in or ordering out. The location is excellent. Subway is one block away. There is a great market across the street. I can say for sure we will definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for 5 days with our daughter. We wanted to all be together without all sharing a bedroom. This was perfect as she had the lounge and we had the bedroom. I can't say amything negative about this hotel and the Cafe Viand next door served very good food.
