“Great facilities and services ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2013

Loved the Hotel Beacon which has become a favourite for Australians and many others.
After a month of traveling Easr & West Coast, these were the best rooms in our US trip.
Separate Lounge and bedrooms, great kitchenette, washing facilities, Wifi & close to markets, restaurants, Central Park and subways.
Would recommend to all NY travelers!

The location is great, few minutes walking to 72nd St metro in the heart of Upper West Side. We stayed in a suite with a two double bed room, a sofa bed in the living room and a kitchenette. The beds in the room were comfortable and the room really nice, with a good size closet and TV. Despite, the sofa bed was horrible. The mattress is very uncomfortable and not appropiate for a hotel like that. The overall suite was good but there were some stains in furniture and walls. The fridge is super noisy if you have to sleep in the sofa bed. Moreover the bathroom is nice, a little bit outdated and very small.

The room was large by NYC standards, painted a soothing green, and I could move around in it without triping over suitcases. It was also well lighted, which I haven't always found in New York. Bed was comfortable and the corridors and adjacent areas to the room quiet.Fairway market is across the street which is like a little NY supermarket with an excellent cafe, serving a healthful and tasty breakfast. The location is close to Central Park and the Museum of Natural History. There is also quite a bit of shopping nearby, but there is a neighborhood feel as well. During my stay I encountered problems with the heating system and the TV, but a service person was sent up immediately after my call, and the problems didn't take long to fix.
I would be happy to stay here again.

You will not find a better hotel in manhattan. Great location away from the crowds but within 10mins on the subway to times square. Great kitchen facilities. Very roomy suites. Very clean. Nice staff. You will not be disapointed if you book this hotel. STOP LOOKING AT REVIEWS AND BOOK IT!!!!!!!!!!

For anyone who is running in the NYC Marathon, this is an excellent place to stay. The 72nd Street subway is only minutes away with express trains available downtown. There is a market and a deli just across the street with excellent food choices. The 5th floor ice maker had plenty for after race recovery. There's an excellent diner adjacent to the hotel. The room was absolutely perfect for this event. Nice bed, excellent shower, good linens along with having a kitchenette. An added bonus was the dirty silverware replaced every day. No need to even do dishes if you didn't want to. We did cook in the room and this was easily accomplished. Parking was on the other side of the hotel for $55 a day. Not cheap but it's NYC and a splurge. There were other parking garages available also. Absolutely no complaints and would stay there again. Staff was excellent!

Room Tip: We had a room facing East towards Central Park. The fireworks on the first night were breathtaking...

This was our first night in a 21-day visit to the USA. The hotel was average with a comfortable pair of beds and good service. However, the effect was marred by the lack of a restaurant. This was slightly overcome by a good location just a few minutes from Central Park.

This hotel was our first opportunity to sleep in a bed after 19 hours on an aircraft. The front-desk person was very cheerful and we even managed to get an extra bed (fold-out couch rather than a roll-away). With Fairfield Markets across the road (Broadway) and Starbucks around the corner, we decided that breakfast could be sorted in the morning. We were able to walk down to 42nd Street without any bother. The kitchenette had a good sized fridge so we were able to stock up on essentials like milk and soft drinks (Americans call them sodas). Future breakfasts were cereal, toast and that all important coffee.

Room Tip: We had no noise problems on the Northside, even though there were two different concerts at the Beac...
