We stayed at the Wolcott for 3 nights at the end of Feb this year. Despite other comments about rude staff we found everyone to be fine, not over friendly but courteous enough.
If the weather is cold *beware of the radiators* in your room, the first thing my daughter did was burn her hand. The heat in the room was stifling so she tried to turn it down. You have to ask the maintenance man to adjust the temp.
We got a room with a view - the top half of the ESB which is beautifully lit blue and green at night. Noise from the street is a bit of a problem though.
My only criticism is the lack of a vanity shelf in the bathroom, we had to put our cosmetics on the window sill and toilet tank. All in all, basic but good value and great location.
