“Worth a vist just to say you have done it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

Lots of people had talked about this place, but when asking cab drivers/waiters/waitress no one seemed to know where it was (maybe thats because they were not telling!!!).
Our conceirge booked a table for us and we had a little wait about two people before us. it is actually quite amusing. Cocktails were very very good. we had the table for four up the corner, which was not the best spot in the world as it was right opposite the toilets and inconsiderate people kept leaving the door open when they left. But that said i dont think you get much choice in where you seat unless you are a regular. Also even thou the place was full, it was not that warm in there and two of us left our coats round our shoulders for the duration of stay.

“The ultimate speakeasy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

Enter the shabby hot dog joint and go directly to the phone booth, past the 80's arcade games. Lift the receiver and tell them your reservation name. Only then will the secret door open into the ultimate cocktail bar. Hidden away, the exclusive atmosphere is part dim and dusty, part hunting lodge. Expert mixologists prepare not only what's on the extensive coctail menu, but also what's not if you tell them your preferred style of drink. Service comes with an explanation that sounds like a wine label. Pricey, but worth it for the experience...oh, and if you're hungry, the hot dog join delivers.

“Great Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

Speakeasy in a hot dog joint, brilliant concept. We rocked up at our reservation time, to be told the bar was the only seating available. We didn't mind and definitely had a great time watching our bartender create the cocktails. She was very good at her job and was a great help tailoring cocktails to our taste buds. Overall this place would be a great local bar to hang out in regularly. A must in NYC if just for the experience.

“Great atmosphere. Great cocktails”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2013

When you find it (took us walking past twice before we tracked it down) a great little place. Good cocktails, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Well worth tracking it down.

“An experience - Average to Good.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

Managed to rock up and a group were 5 mins late so we got let in instead. So dont be late if you book, and booking is usually recommended.
Yes fun going through the phone box into a dark and discrete drinkers bar. The staff are professional and veer on being friendly but you feel a little like its your privilege to be there. Notwithstanding that we were all provided with interesting cocktails on recommendation and even dabbled in some of the bar snacks which were not great. But hey you go there to walk through the phone box door and have a great cocktail and I would suggest not eat.
All in all worth a visit!
