“great w. village spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

Outstanding service, great wines, excellent food. Definitely one of my favourite downtown venues. Very casual vibe - but can get a bit crowded on certain nights. Outdoor patio (during warmer months) is a huge plus.

“Showcasing Wide Array of Italian Wines; Flavorful Italian-Inspired Dishes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

Gottino is a small, cozy neighborhood wine bar with a rotating selection of carefully chosen, exclusively Italian wines for advanced and curious drinkers. The list runs the gambit from sparkling to dessert wines; including white, rosé, and red table wines. But anyone looking for a wine list sorted by grape varietal will be sorely disappointed. Gottino pays homage to the concept of terroir and invites wine swirlers to venture off the beaten path in respect to grape varietals and regions. Irrespective of one’s choice, however, bottles typically do not cost more than $50 (all wines are available by the glass as well). For something different, the place also offered three Italian craft beers last time I went.

Over the years I have found the Italian-inspired food at Gottino to be consistently flavorful and original. Plates are small and invite guests to sample several different culinary creations. Luckily, the menu does not change much. There are just too many savory favorites I would miss: walnut pesto crostini, dates wrapped in bacon, the rabbit pot pie or the shaved Brussels sprouts salad, to name just a few.

“Back Garden a Delight”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

My wife and I have enjoyed wines here on many occasions but never have enjoyed the back garden before. It is so relaxing. We sat in the back with our good Italian wines and enjoyed a sunny Saturday afternoon. It was as if we had our own townhome in West Village and were just relazxing in the courtyard. Highly recommend.

“Oasis”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

Stopped in for a light lunch. What a pleasant surprise to find a back garden, so relaxing. Enjoyed a selection of cheeses and meats with some bread. Had a dry rose, perfect for a warm day. Glad to have found Gottino's.

“Charming little wine bar with good fingerfood.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Great and well balanced wine menu with very nice Italian wines. Not the big names, but rather unknown varieties like Teroldego for instance. Surprising. Very reasonable wines prices. And very nice small Italian bites to go with your wines. We went twice last visit.
