“Gorgeous food and well priced”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2011

We ate here on our last night. They have a good variety of food and drinks, and if you catch it right they have a happy hour aswell.
Of course we had a pint of guinness.
The staff are very helpfull and there is a real mixture of people in here, business type and tourists.

“Fun pub atmosphere, good location, good food.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2011

We stopped in here last minute before a show we were going to see. The atmosphere and music is fun. The location is great. They had a few tables available to sit outside. We were not there for celebrity watching, but we were sitting outside, and within 5 minutes, 3 actors we recognized walked by. The food was actually very good. They had a good selection of pub food and some other nice selections. They had a salmon with tarragon cream sauce as a special, and it was delicious. The service was friendly although a bit slow. Happy Hour was a great deal - $3 for select bottled beer and $4 for draft beers.

“Ordinary, mediocre service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2010

There isn't anything special about the place. Drinks were overpriced and the service was mediocre at best. It wasn't busy any night I went there. Karaoke was terrible on Sunday--nobody sang except the guy who set up the equipment.

“Stereotypical pub & atmosphere (spot-on)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2009

My wife and I ran into a man selling tickets to a terrible comedy club that recommended we stop by this pub. He was right, this is the better of the pubs in midtown with a number of serious drink specials. We didn't have any food, but the in-house brew flows like water. For the never changing price of three-per-pint, you could go all night. Very clean & many screens means a good time for sports.

The only improvement would be to take the head bartender from The Mean Fiddler and plant him behind the bar at The Irish Rogue. Adding a little Irish fight & sass could do some good.

By far my favorite watering hole in overly trendy 'Hells Kitchen'. Started going here for the Thursday night Irish Band and haven't looked back. Recommended it to countless friends and visitors and never once gotten a thumbs down. Place has a nice open atmosphere and big upstairs which helps deal with some of the good crowds it gets. Bartenders Irene, Mick, Mora, and Roger are about as cool and laid back as they come. Although according to Zagats' they are particularly nice to ugly people, which probably explains why they are so good to me. Food is outstanding (esp after a few pints). A pub with no pretensions like way too many places in NYC.
