“One night in NY”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

The hotel has a great location. Fixed taxi fee from airport of 52 US dollars. The rooms were ok but needed a quality refurb. Mine was cold with broken air con and a large fan unit whirring away in the corner. Bathroom 1980s style, although it was clean. It does have free wifi which is a plus. You can walk to almost any of the main attractions which is also good.It may be that it's luck of the draw with the rooms. My work colleague said that his was pretty good!

This is a clean comfortable & friendly hotel. It's in a prime location too for ease of access to all New York has to offer.
I would defiantly book again,The price was very reasonable we really didn't expect it to be as nice for the price. Don't listen to the bad reviews great base to rest you head.

The hotel was perfectly located, that's the biggest advantage of the hotel. Shuttles from the airport can bring you directly to the hotel or take you from the hotel to the airport (count about 45 minutes, depending on traffic), and one person at the hotel can take care of your luggage if you get in early of after checking out. However the staff is not super friendly, the elevator is terribly slow, and there was a plastic chair in the lobby fixed with white tape! The room was spacious and cozy, but there was no mini fridge and the hairdryer was not working. It's not bad, but it's not a prestigious hotel, so I'd say that it's a bit too expensive for what it is. And bring ear plugs if you want to sleep well, because you'll hear firemen trucks during the night!

Spent 4 nights. There was a "city" issue..replacing water pipes so there was no water available between 9AM & 4PM for 3 days. We could work around that. Asked for a quiet room away from street noise. Had a nice, clean room, but it was across from the elevator and the staging area for the cleaning crew, so it was noisy, especially at 3:00 AM & 5:00 AM. Asked for a room change the next day. The hotel was filled, but after being sent to rooms that were "unavailable" twice, we settled in..after they found our luggage which had been misplaced during the shuffles. The room was not as newly renovated. Could have used a paint job, and it was across from the elevator. The worse part was the heat. Couldn't regulate it and it registered 79. Reported it that night and the next day, no change in room temp. We lifted the window enough to let in some cold air so the room was closer to 75. Bearable. When we checked out, we mentioned the heat problem. The desk clerk credited us $40 on our bill. Also suggested they have bottled water available for guests when there is no water. Was told they did have some. Of course...it wasn't visible and no one mentioned it to us!

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room away from the elevator.
