“New Year's Trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 days ago NEW

This is an affordable small hotel with decent-sized rooms for New York (you could walk around the bed!) in a pretty quiet neighborhood right next to the Brooklyn Bridge. We were able to find on-street parking (holiday/weekend), though there is a nearby lot with a hotel deal. A few blocks to the subway, but an easy walk. Staff was lovely and very helpful. The usual BW breakfast room with waffle machine, but they also had fruit and yogurt. Also good coffee shop right down the street.

So sorry to hear this hotel is being "upgraded" to fancy boutique. We would have happily stayed here again.

Arrived on Christmas eve from Newark, not a long ride but it was $80.00 from Newark to this hotel. This is a small place but nice. The guy at the front desk was very informative and helpful. The breakfast was good and even thought the space is small we would just run down grab some things and head back up to our room. Couple of blocks to the nearest subway but we didn't mind the walk. There was a nice ice rink near the hotel that we would walk past every night along with a huge Christmas tree. There is also a grocery store near by where we went to buy water to keep in the room. When we weren't using the subway we ditched the cabs and used Uber and it was great. The only complaint about this hotel was it was really really hot. It wasn't cold while we were there , temp was usually 50-60 and they had the heat kicked on really high. We had the ac in our room going but that didn't really help so luckily we were able to open the window to cool the room off. And the wi-fi wouldn't always work .Overall great place would stay again

Third stay at friendly, small hotel with some rooms having private terraces with views of the East River, Brooklyn Bridge, One World Trade Center, great connections to east- and westside subways, many restaurants. Only hotel choice for our trips to NYC.

I booked a single night in this hotel to be near to a meeting I had in Fulton Street the next morning.

The receptionist was very friendly and helpful.

The first room I was given directly overlooked some generators and was very noisy so I asked to be moved. This was done with no fuss whatsoever.

Buffet breakfast was included and was basic but very nice..

Room Tip: Make sure you do not overlook the Generators which are very noisy!

Stayed here for three days with two teenage kids as part of college visits. Loved the location, right in the old seaport area near Chinatown, Little Italy and the Brooklyn Bridge. It is quiet and out of the hustle and bustle of midtown but near subways to take you anywhere. They have have a reduced rate at a nearby garage for $25 per day which is great! Room was nice, not fancy but big enough for the three of us to spread out. Breakfast was also nothing special but certainly acceptable. The staff was outstanding! Friendly, helpful and gracious. I had some issues with my credit card at check in and they could not have been nicer about it. Also gave us maps, directions and good restaurant recommendations. We will definitely return!

Great hotel in a great location. Comfortable accommodations and helpful staff. This hotel is close to the South Street Seaport and minutes away from from bus routes to Midtown. Shopping is convenient and sightseeing is easily available. Also, great restaurants are within walking distance. A free Connection bus provides transportation to the Battery and other attractions on the West Side. Half-price tickets to Broadway shows are available nearby at John Street.

I've never stayed in a Best Western Plus before this and would never ever stay in a regular Best Western now. This hotel is seriously run down. My closet doors fell off every time I tried to open them even after I asked to have them fixed. The heat was so loud I couldn't use it at night when it was most needed. I stayed for four nights and got locked out of my room 3 nights in a row. The location is fantastic and the hotel was clean but otherwise not a great stay.
