“Good, comfy stay”

I enjoyed that it was a little quieter and away from the busy, loud places in New York. It was comfortable and clean, and the staff was friendly. They always only had one person at the front desk, so we had to wait for a little bit a few times, but not a big deal. It was also walking distance from the Brooklyn Bridge, Battery Park, and 9/11 memorial, which were all cool to visit. I wouldn't mind staying at this hotel if I went to New York again.

WE STAYED HERE 9/21 -9/23. Centrally located to all seaport activities(Statue,Ellis Island etc. Also quick walk to the Free connection bus. Room was very clean and bathroom immaculate. Safe in the room and refrigerator. Nice comfortable beds and QUIET. Free breakfast every morning waffles, muffins, bagels cereal eggs sausage cereal coffee and tea. Fruit too. We were able to leave our luggage here before check in time and see the city and retieve it and check in upon return. Easy to FDR drive to exit the city . Also close to entrance to walk the Brooklyn Bridge. Many restaurants nearby . Ate at the Paris on the corner across the street. Excellent food I had roast chicken with mashed pot. and he had exotic salad. Liquor served too. Hotel provides HBO and other channels. Large TV screen. Could see the Brooklyn Bridge from our window. Staff coourteous and called a hotel car for us to go to a rooftop bar one evening near Times Square. only $21.00 and tip and it was a long ride in ^pm traffic. Computers in lobby for our use and free USA today everyday. Highly recommend.!!!

Room Tip: We were on the 3rd floor.near the elevator and never heard the elevator. Never heard any noise from...

For NYC this hotel offered good value. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of Fulton Street Subway Station, and it is also much quieter than Midtown but there are still plenty of restaurants nearby. The hotel itself looks a bit old fashioned but the wifi is excellent and the room also had lots of power sockets so there was no problem at all with charging electrical devices. The lighting provision was also good, which when you are getting older is important! Tea and coffee were provided in the room and there was breakfast available which is fairly unusual for New York.

Had a wonderful time at Best Western. Everyone was very helpful with any questions I had. They helped with transportation to and from the different places we visited. Our flight arrived before check-in time but they locked our luggage in a secure place so we could start exploring the city.

Much the best of the three hotels in New York my husband & I have stayed in. Large, well equipped room with comfortable king size bed. Good size fridge, with two bottles of complimentary water daily. Free breakfast & delicious home made cookies if you're around in the afternoon. Lots of excellent restaurants very close by. Will be even better when development of area completed.

The hotel looks like a 7-floor restored older building with a charming and homey interior. Some rooms facing the East River have large outdoor terraces with table and chairs. The East River view from these terraces is amazing. We paid an extra $20 per night for this view and thought it was well worth it, as we ate breakfast on the terrace early in the morning and read and had a drink in the early evening. Each room’s individual terrace is separated from the others by iron bars—you can see and hear your neighbors on their terrace. This was not an issue for us as we are early to rise and early to bed. We saw nobody while eating breakfast or reading in the early evening. Our next-door neighbors had a quiet party later in the evening, which did not bother us in our room. Our room had a large air conditioner inside, the likes of which we have never seen before. Though temps were in the upper 50s a couple nights, when the A/C was turned off the room got stuffy. So we left it on. It was noisy, but kind of like white noise which helps you sleep. The only bother was when we wanted to watch TV we had to turn the TV volume up or turn the A/C off. Breakfast is typical continental plus sausage patties and scrambled eggs. While we enjoy breakfast in NYC coffee houses, an early in hotel free breakfast allowed us to begin our touring day sooner and we were able to cover more ground. We helped ourselves to cookies in the lobby and free USA Today in the afternoon. Staff was great checking us in and out. We did not have other interaction with front desk as they were efficiently assisting others as we entered and exited the lobby. When our smoke detector beeped loudly around midnight because the battery was low, a call to the front desk as met with "we’ll be up in a few minutes." They did just that and fixed the problem.

the hotel is in the seaport area, right next to brooklyn bridge. there are several restaurants and shops close by which have all (re-)opened recently after being hit badly by hurricane sandy.

the area is surprisingly pleasantly quiet at night - especially compared to other hotels in manhattan. very friendly and helpful staff and nice and clean rooms!
