“Tour de Force”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

Stayed here for the 5 Boro Bike Tour and couldn't have been happier with my choice. Our room had a view of the Brooklyn Bridge! The room was small but clean and perfect for the short amount of time we spent there. The continental breakfast was excellent. The only thing I would have changed was that there were no towel racks in the bathroom, which made it difficult to hang up a hand towel or washcloth, and not a lot of counter space in general. What really made the hotel exceptional was the front desk staff. They were unfailingly courteous, pleasant and helpful and were invaluable in helping us navigate the logistics of the bike tour. Great job!

I've been going to the BW Seaport for quite some time. It is especially convenient for me because my business is in lower Manhattan. The hotel is well-maintained, the rooms were immaculate, and the staff on arrival and checkout were courteous and professional. It is very reasonably priced. Keep in mind that lower Manhattan was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy and there is still some construction around the hotel. But the local restaurants and bars are back up and the place has come back to life. All in all, I would not hesitate to recommend the BW Seaport.

Hotel is in a quiet corner in a downtown neighborhood - even the cab drivers had trouble finding it. Immediate area is recovering from the storm last fall, and there is much construction in progress. Mood is hopeful as some of the area restaurants have begun to re-open, but many are not. Short walk to Brooklyn, Seaport, cabs, and subway. Longer walk to Battery Park and 911 exhibit.

Front desk staff was VERY helpful. Our room had a queen size bed in a long, narrow room. Air conditioner was extremely and cycles on and off. Had to turn up the TV to hear over it. Bathroom was small but efficient and clean.

The hotel itself Is very nice as other reviewers have stated. The staff was very courteous. The rooms were very clean.

The only problem is that the Seaport district still suffers from the aftermaths of hurricane Sandy. 2/3 of businesses around the hotel is in repair. The street which faces the hotel is under constructions as well. We had stayed over the weekend, so we didn't experience the noises.

I sure the hotel will be a wonderful place to stay once the neighborhood is back to normal.

We found out we were moved here when we got to NYC and our Times Square lodging fell through. I wasn't too happy at first about being downtown and not in midtown. However, the hotel was wonderful and the staff was fantastic. It was close-ish to a subway stop and a nice walking distance from the 9/11 Memorial, Brooklyn Bridge, Chinatown, and Little Italy. I felt the staff went above and beyond to help us with various requests (faxing something, storing luggage, moving our room when the first toilet clogged). They were incredible. The continental breakfast was one of the better ones I've had too! The only reason I might not stay here again is because of the location but it we really did have a great experience.

I was planning a family trip to New York and happened upon this hotel while I was scouring hotel ratings on TripAdvisor. I was reading the reviews for this hotel that were mostly glowing reviews. Then, I looked at the room prices that were very reasonable (for New York) and I got skeptical about the authenticity of the reviews. In New York, how could glowing reviews and great room prices go together? I looked at other websites and they agreed with TripAdvisor. I am happy to say the glowing reviews are right on for this hotel. I was very happy once I got to the hotel and saw sights that matched the pictures on TripAdvisor. This hotel has to have been recently updated. The bathrooms were very clean with shiny new marble tile floors and nice bathroom fixtures. No dirt build up even in the corners of the floor of the bathroom. The room carpet was clean. The beds were in good shape and used duvets for cleanliness. We had a two queen-bed room that contained two real queen beds with enough room for a rollaway bed. The room also contained a desk, a small table, a cabinet with refrigerator, and three chairs and we could still walk around. Even the offsite garage where you must park your car for the duration of your stay (because they cram a lot of cars in there) for $20 per night was a good deal. We were okay with that because subways and walking is the way to see Manhattan. The free breakfast buffet and free WiFi were very welcome to my connected kids. Breakfast included the usual wafflemaker, toaster, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, bagels, donuts, pastries, cereals, yogurts, and many other usual breakfast buffet items. The buffet was maintained pretty good most times. The hotel desk clerks were very helpful and knowledgeable and many hotel guests took advantage of this feature. We had a very fine stay at this hotel. The only down side to this hotel is that it is in the middle of some Seaport historical development project that includes construction around the hotel neighborhood. Also, the after-effects of hurricane Sandy meant many storefronts were still closed around the hotel. When we stayed the restaurant ACQUA (Italian) was open right next door, and Mark Joseph Steakhouse was open next to that, and Meade's pub across the street was open too. So, I had no need for anything else. Other places are open down there too, or are in the process of reopening soon.

Room Tip: My room was a 4th floor corner room with a Brooklyn Bridge view. It had 5 windows in it that looks...

Thanks to Douglas, Robert, and Nettie for their wonderful hospitality during our stay April 6th. We have stayed in Midtown on most of our NYC adventures. We were delighted with the quiet, clean, comfortable atmosphere of the Seaport Inn. We will definitely be back bringing our 8 year old grandson! Thanks again for making our stay so great! carolyn and ron klepacki
p.s. the new hostess at the free breakfast was so helpful and pleasant Thanks to her (marian
