“quick wrap up”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

The service was superb. front desk knowledgable and welcoming. Spotless rooms. Reported a small infrastructure issue to the front desk. When we returned it was fixed. We are fond of your hotel, your staff and the location.

We are retired and it is expensive to stay in Manhattan, but we look to you first.

We stayed at the best western in seaport and the service of the employees was remarkable. They went above and beyond to make our stay the best possible from helping us get there after the taxi driver dropped us off in manhattan by the Empire State Building. It was like midnight and we were lost and had no where to stay or any idea how to get there and the first place we called was best western. They helped us get here with step by step instructions, stayed on the phone with us for over an hour trying to get there, gave us an awesome room once we finally made it. By the time we got there every restaurant around was closed so the front desk attendant turned on the breakfast stuff so we could at least get something to eat before bed. The next morning they gave us an extended check out since we got there so late, and once we checked out they held onto our bags for us so we could do a little sightseeing before heading back to the airport and going back to Texas. This hotel made our trip a thousand times better, it was our first trip to New York and will not be our last and we will stay nowhere but at the best western seaport inn! Lovely view, great location, awesome customer service, overall wish the scores on here would go higher than just to five. Would give this hotel 100!

Donald at the front desk was excellent. very pleasant and helpful..Price was excellent. decent size room, comfortable stay.. small but fine exercise room. good selections on fee breakfast...a few blocks from subway. $20 to park in local garage.. The hotel was real tough to get to due to lots of construction in area. all roads close to hotel seemed to be closed.. it was pretty frustrating. but hotel was well worth it

I booked this hotel as a last minute with Priceline and got a great rate. Due to the Sandy storm the hotel had just been refurbished and was clean. The outside street had construction work and is being addressed. Other than that the rooms was clean pleasant to stay and I had no issues.

Met by Dion and Drew and very much enjoyed talking to them and they were very helpful throughout my stay.

Stayed January 2013 on my own.

Came to the city to show a visiting friend the sights. The hotel personnel were all friendly and very helpful,. Frank and Dion were especially accommodating. Our room was pleasantly sized for the four of us, clean and no lingering smoke smells. It was a weekend and quiet, pretty area and just a couple of blocks to the subway. Parking garage is a block and a half. We walked or rode subway most everywhere. We were happy with the hotel breakfast, waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, scones, etc. Small, but adequate fitness room. Shops.nearby closed due to Sandy, but the seaport area is beautiful. Excellent stay for us and we would stay again. Thank you!

Because my husband has always been fascinated with the Brooklyn Bridge, we decided to spend a weekend in the area of the bridge. We were very pleased with the Best Western Seaport Inn. Frank and Dion were great hosts and so welcoming. They gave us an upgrade room that was available and had a large terrace and view of the bridge. it was a corner room and spacious, clean and had a very comfortable king size bed.
Unfortunately, Hurricane Sandy left a mess behind in the seaport area and many shops and restaurants were closed. That didn't dampen our enthusiasm. We toured the new 9/11 memorial, the East Side Tenement museum, and of course walked across the Brooklyn Bridge and explored the DUMBO area of Brooklyn. A great weekend.

Room Tip: Ask for corner room on higher floor with terrace.

We stayed in the best western sea port in for six nights. On our first night the thermostat started sparking at 2am lighting up the room immediately we exited the room and contacted reception and we were moved into another room. W spent that night and the next night in the new room and on the second morning we went shopping to jersey gardens at 9am and didn't come back to our room until approx 10pm and when we went to out room we got hit at the door when we opened it with cigarette smoke in a none smoking room and the maid had been in. We went straight to reception to complain someone had been smoking in our non smoking room when we were out(this was a first ever for us but not the hotel from previous reviews.) the staff's explanation was that someone must of been smoking outside under the window and the room is up 4 floors with the window closed and it managed to stench out the room and sheets (stupid explanation). So we then got moved to an upgrade to a room with a terrace with drafts door in -8 and no heating so the next morning we got mov to a lower floor with one night off our bill for the hassle. When we got the room we were both uneasy when we noticed the fire alarm hanging from the ceiling with no battery which made us uneasy from our first nights experience. I highlighted about the smoking in the room but the manager didn't seem to care. Fom previous reviews it looks like something that is accepted at this hotel. Although we got one night off I would of paid a lot more to be without this hassle.

Dear Baeon,

Thank you very much your review. We have taken your review to heart and will use it to train our staff. We try every hard to let all our guest know upon checkin that we are 100% smoke free facility but we still have someone break the policy. It was unfortunate that you had to go through these issues and for it we apologize. If you are in the area again please call me so that I will make sure your stay is trouble free.
