“Best mexican restaurant outside Mexico!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

To be fair, coming from Denmark i dont eat mexican as regularly as Americans probably do. But me and my wife were in NYC for a week and we ate twice(!!) at Toloache. Its that good!
The guacamole (go for the ROJO) and a margherita as a starter is a must!
After we had some wonderful taco´s with suckling pig and lobster, followed by a chipotle marinated chicken dish.

Everything was out of this world; The service was fast, extremely friendly and funny although it was very busy, and the food was without doubt the best mexican food i have ever had outside Mexico.

Highly recommended, cant wait to go again!

“Nice Upper East Mexican Restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

In the old space for Le Refuge. Nice outside seating. Great Guacamole. Good Margerita. Soft Shell Crab taco special was very very good.. a bit pricey. Why do restaurants insist on offering specials but never offering prices. This is not specific to this restaurant..it is endemic to the category. Front room bar was very busy. Then a middle room that was ok. Back room is very nice as is the outside seating. Go for the back room if the weather is bad.

Will go back again and try some other things on the menu

“Not standard Mexican restaurant fare”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013 via mobile

This was a refreshing change of pace. Lighter Mexican fare, with excellent cocktails. Prices were reasonable for the quality of the food. Excellent service.

“Great Mexican Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

We thought it would be nice to switch it up a bit and try a Mexican restaurant. It was recommended by our doorman at the Pearl Hotel. Although very busy on Memorial weekend during showtime, the atmosphere was good and the service excellent. the food and wines were very good and the price quite reasonable. I would have gone again were we staying longer.

“Good food and drinks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

Excellent food, one of the best Mexican restaurants I have been to. The drinks I ordered were awesome and so was the food. The dessert which I had ordered( something related to chocolate) was yummy too.The waitress was very friendly too. But the place is not very big, so feels a little cramped. All in all a great place for Mexican food.
