Fantastic place to stay in NEw York City for those wanting to come home to a quieter, 'real' NYC neighbourhood at the end of the day. The room was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean and had a real NYC brownstone ambience. By the end of our 11 days here, we were greeting the locals in the neighbourhood like old friends.
Small kitchenette and refrigerator in the room meant we could make cups of tea and a simple breakfast each day, and the great location gave us walking access to fabulous local eateries on Lexington Ave, 2nd and 3rd Avenues and Madison Ave for dinner each night.
The apartment is close to the 96th and 103rd Street subway stations and is walking distance to the top end of Central Park, and to the major museums on museum mile. It's also on the subway line to Yankee Stadium, making it convenient for the Yankees games. The bus stop to Greenwich and East Village is right outside the door as well.
We had a room facing Lexington Ave and the street noise was very low - we were pleasantly surprised at how quiet the room was during morning peak hour.
Jonathan was very helpful with local suggestions and tips, including the best place to do laundry, and Victor, the maintenance/general handyman, was also very friendly and helpful. The room includes a welcome basket of goodies and some information about the local areas and attractions that is very useful.
All in all, a lovely refuge to come home to at the end of each day. We will definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.
Thanks for all the wonderful memories.
