We hit up Momofuku Ssam Bar after a night at the theater, knowing that it was rated one of the best restaurants in the country and that they don't take reservations. We thought we'd have a long wait on our hands, but we were fine with that. Imagine our surprise when we showed up at 10 p.m. and were immediately seated. Our waitress was lovely and the service was relaxed, which we appreciated having had other more formal meals during our trip. We tried everything we wanted on the menu and it was still our cheapest "fancy" meal of the trip, which we were quite surprised by given the restaurant's accolades. Not cheap, certainly, but definitely doable for anyone wanting a top-notch NYC restaurant experience. My favorites were the pickles and the pig's ears. When we left at 11 p.m. there were still a number of people in the restaurant eating, so the atmosphere was lively and not at all what you'd expect at the end of the night. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting NYC.
