we stayed in this hotel beginning of september. we had a twin bedroom with bath ensuite. the room and the hotel were clean and the staff helpfull. unfortunately NYC is expensive. this hotel was less expensive than others, but we still paid 200€ per night. overall, i can recommend this hotel.

I stayed in a private double ensuite room with my girlfriend.

The room was clean and of fair size.

It has everything you would expect ofa hostel.

Location is a bit fair out of Time Square and the other major tourist spots. Which can be a good thing drpending on your stay. Central Park is within walking distance. I would defintely consider staying here again if I return.

People who are writing negative reviews about this place do not understand that this place is bargain for the location. Of course you shouldn't expect a 5 star hotel when your paying 1/5 the price per night. Sure your on 101 St., but your still in the action. Just take a walk down Broadway towards lower Manhattan - Diners, Cafes, Central Park, Museums, Shopping, Beautiful Architecture. Lots of parking garages within a 1 minute walk if you are bringing your car.

I stayed with a friend during the first week of September in a private room with twin beds. The room had a wall mounted t.v , air conditioning unit, and sink and mirror. A/C blew cold and the beds were comfy. The beds were made every day while we were out. The shared bathrooms were nice and were cleaned daily and well kept by those who used them.

Staff was young and friendly and big shout out to Maggie and Michael who helped us out when needed. Would definitely stay again as the price was right for someone on a budget. Basic and Clean.

Often with bad experiences, the lesser you talk about them, the better it is for your mental health.

In the case of hotel Broadway, NY, i am being philanthropic and letting the bad memories be recounted for fellow community members.

I will really keep it short, unlike my eulogizing of 40 Berkeley at Boston.
Broadway calls itself Hotel and Hostel, i am a little unsure about what that really denotes.

It is surely not a hotel.
Coming to the hostel part, it seems like a hostel where you are to do all your cleaning and upkeep and ofcourse you are paying because you are loaded with moolah.

Broadway is remarkably dingy on the inside.
The lift is to be seen to be believed, it is rusty, climbs at a snails pace, and can fit either a couple or their luggage in one go.

The corridors that take you from the lift to your rooms are downtownish, at least on the 4th floor that we stayed on; they were un-plastered as well.
I doubt if brick design was intentional as it was definitely neither very neatly layered nor very arty.

Rooms are cubicle-like in dimensions. the moment we stepped in the room we knew we had committed a blunder by booking with them.

Bunk beds creek to put you to sleep with an unsolicited melody.

Mattresses are better left unseen, for if all the stains on it were narrating a story it would definitely not be mushy and soft but horrible and grotesque.

Bed sheets were changed daily but if you were to lay down on the lower bunk bed you would see how hurriedly it was tucked under the upper bunk bed mattress. For all the three nights that we suffered there , i would first be redoing the linen.

The best part of the stay was their washrooms. Thought tiny and shared, with no separate facility for men and women, they were reasonably clean.

The location too is nothing great to rave about. It is pretty far off from most NY attractions on a freshers list. It is however close to the central park but then going by the size of this park, what is not close to it?

All said, They say 'never say never'.
This time however, i will go against the collective wisdom and surely say Never, Never, Never again.

Thanks to the Broadway staff for whatever efforts you do put in, I sincerely believe that none of us ever tries to be mediocre, may be we goof up on some basics somewhere that too unintentionally. so all the best for your way up.

Thanks to the readers too for your patient reading.

God Bless.

Clean hotel and unstable wifi only at lobby. No breakfast the hotel situated in old building but the room I got had bathroom and was very clean. Many young guys and girls are using this hotel. No 1 subway straight to manhattan. Not far. Cheap price but very basic but clean hotel.
