“I'm crazily surprised at what people are saying”

This is an average, very average hotel, small rooms, drafty to say the very least. It's winter, and extremely cold outside, that said your thermostat is on or off, there is no way to set it. So it's cold or hot, unless you are there enough days to get it sorted out.
Most rooms have showers, but not bath tubs.
Construction during fashion week was one of my biggest peeves. The hotel is full, but be prepared to wait longer for the already slow elevators, the sound of construction and the smell of paints and chemicals.Even when this is done, you still have a small drafty, boarding house atmosphere.

On the upside, the staff is excellent, the food is excellent, from Gemma the in house restaurant. The evening cocktail scene is fantastic, and it is a place to see and be seen. It is located in the best part of town.

So an average hotel for sleeping, and above average for nightlife, and the bar scene. And great staff

The Bowery Hotel in NYC is my home in New York. For business reasons I travel very often to New York and since I discover the Bowery Hotel I have never changed anymore.
Rooms are cozy and old style, full of lights and full serviced. Service is great, location super convenient and the bar is cool.
You can choose to be very quiet and private, but if you like hanging out you are at the best place where you can meet the best crowd and invite your friends for a drink.

Room Tip: all rooms are great, the ones on the angles are more lightful

Just stayed there for 4 nights with my wife and had the best stay in a NYC hotel in the 16 years we have been vacationing in the city. The location is perfect since we usually find ourselves spending most of our time and money in the NoLiTa and SoHo area anyway. It is a 5-15 minute walk to all the best places: Greenwich Village, East Village, NoHo, etc.

The hotel staff was very polite but not overly nice. Preferred access in the lounge for hotel guests is a big plus too. Gemma restaurant on the first floor was a great breakfast for most of our mornings. Can't wait to come back in July this year.

Room Tip: Higher the better if you don't want road noise.

You will not be in the tourist area staying here. But you will walk down the streets and see people that live and work here, which is such a refreshing way to see NY. The hotel staff is outstanding and the drinks are so great you won't want to leave. You can walk down to a farmers market or you can stay in the hotel and never be disappointed with the atmosphere here. Just one of the best hotels in NY. We stayed for a business trip but this would be a great get away hotel for romantic place to stay. I'm not sure I'll stay anywhere else while in NY again.

Room Tip: corner rooms are great.

We were looking for a cosy place in New York and were lucky to find it. Small but very charming rooms. Ours was a corner room overlooking the city. The beds are extremly comfortable. And the lobby is a great place to relax in front of the fireplace. Great location! And very nice staff.

Being a first timer in NYC, of course I wanted the best of everything and my man just being his normal amazing self made sure it would be as how i dreamt it to be... I could not believe he was able to pull off a romantic getaway for us in the middle of this concrete jungle - NYC! :)

Part of what made our getaway great was the hotel. We got a corner room on 12th floor with glass windows from floor to ceiling and the view is just as beautiful in morning as it is as night! From waking to the morning sunlight touching your body to the view of lights of Manhattan at night :) the king size bed is a comfortable as it can be! Same as the pillows! You would never want to get out of bed!!! More so, the room! ;) oh I gotta say too... They got great quality of toiletries. I have never liked using toiletries from hotels but I got so curious cause of how it was packaged. Very classy and high end looking so I tried the soap for my face and body. I was impressed with it! same with the rest... :) the receptionist was very accommodation actually all of them were... Made sure we get what we wanted even suggested a great restaurant that we ended up loving that resto so much! I know we'd stay again on this hotel if given the chance :) oh btw! The restaurant beside the hotel was good too! :)

This was our first stay at The Bowery Hotel. We had a king corner room on the 10th floor. The view was out over Bowery Street. The room had very nice glass windows that you are actually able to open. The bathroom has a huge window in front of the tub/shower combination. You could flash all of NYC if you so desired. The tub is very high so for elderly people this may not be the best type of tub/shower combo. The shower had awesome flow and plenty of hot water. The toilet had a amazing flush.
The room has hardwood floors with throw rugs which is great for people with allergies.. The king bed was very comfortable and the linens were comforting. We had turn down service with free water/cookies which was a nice touch.

The only complaints I would have is there was no full size ironing board - it was a little dorm room ironing board that I could not figure out how to use without wrinkling my clothing more. There was no waster basket in the bathroom either - had to keep running into the bedroom to throw toiletries away.

The wood furniture was banged up a bit and the closet had a lot of dirt on it. Really disappointed that could not print our boarding passes for return flight. Even places without an office center will let you sign in and print at the front desk. The lady at the front desk said the only way to print them was to have them emailed to the hotel. That's just a real pain.

Free internet was nice. Worked quite well.

3 elevators were very efficient. Overall this was a good stay. It's a long cab ride to Time Square if you want to see a Broadway show. Over $20 cab fare to time square and over $25 cab fare to Central Park -- we learned how to take the subway. 6 train a couple blocks away and the even more choices a few more blocks away.

For $405 a night expected a few more amenities but overall would stay again.

Room Tip: Corner rooms offer a lot of light. If you are elderly as for a room with better tub/shower so you d...
