“I Love this hotel”

This is my favorite hotel in NYC and I have stayed in many. The welcoming service is wonderful. When the taxi arrived with us and six suitcases, the dapper doorman greeted us with "welcome back." Front desk personal are friendly and professional. All was in order with our reservation. The best part of this hotel is the size of the rooms. All are suites -- very spacious modern suites. This is so much better than the tiny rooms one finds in NYC hotels, even expensive ones. And the location -- it is perfect! The only taxi we used was to arrive. The hotel is a short walk from the best restaurants, theaters, Fifth Avenue. When we left, we picked up our Avis rental car right next door. Only slight downsides, there is a charge for internet in the business center and the restaurants run by Gordon Ramsey are expensive.

The london hotel NYC is in good location, mid size buiding, nice area, large rooms, and expensive.
very expensive. Having paid such a price ( $500 for regular room which is a simple suite) one can expect to receive clean a new towels (all towels look like thousand guests used them before you came....) and some of them were with stains. It makes you feel real uncomfortable. and, a lot of plumbing trouble (every tap was leaking, the toilet bowl was blocked....).
Last issue - tiny lobby. No chair or place to sit. Very unconvinient. You can't wait there or meet somebody.
Hey you, pls invest some money in refurbishment before selling the rooms in such prices. You really could do better.

Best hotel shower anywhere. Ultra comfortable bed. Quiet in room, quiet in halls. Friendly and courteous staff. Perhaps the best in New York. Room was really well thought out, for example numerous electrical plugs at the head of the bed. Dimming light in the bathroom, which was essential because the electrically operated blackout curtins kept the room dark at night with no light leaks.
But find some other place to eat. I think they must believe it is still Hell's Kitchen and not just part of the chain. Breakfast hostess was "snooty" each day bordering on just plain rude. The breakfast bar is no bargain and neither are the a la carte selections. The dinner would have been more than $200 per person plus tip. The slightly less expensive bar dining room they call Maze was so loud one could barely speak. The afternoon tea was a nice touch but still very loud. Al least the service at the tea was polite and friendly.

Room Tip: We were on 17th floor and could not detect any street noise.

Just had a three day stay at the London NYC. The rooms are larger than most in NYC and well appointed as well. The hotel is close to Times Square, Central Park and subway stops and is on a fairly quiet section of West 54th St.. We would definitely stay there again for our next trip to New York.

We stayed recently at the London NYC for a family wedding. From the moment we arrived we were treated with friendliness and courtesy. Each hotel staff person we came in contact with went out of their way to go beyond what was asked and even anticipating our needs.
My 91 year old mother attended the wedding and the hotel staff "adopted" her immediately, making sure that she had everything she needed and greeting her at every opportunity. She commented on how special she was made to feel.
While being friendly the hotel staff remained professional at every turn. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone wishing a warm inviting hotel in a great location.

Finding a good hotel in NYC in a good location with good size rooms is like finding a needle in a haystack...... So this was my dilemma when searching for one, especially when it's your first time there. You read so many different things saying stay near this place , that place etc and gets really confusing.

We decided on Midtown purely because it was closer to the good shops and not in such a busy area with loud traffic 24/7, although I realise its a noisy city and that's part of its appeal "the city that never sleeps" we wanted to be part of that but try and minimise the noise where possible, so we could at least get a good nights sleep. I guess that's the advice I could give decide on a location and then search for a good hotel there rather than just randomly looking for hotels in NYC.

After choosing Midtown as the location we came across The London NYC and booked it, I can honestly say we weren't disappointed the rooms were spacious, contemporary with good size light bathrooms , our room was on the 51st floor at the front of the hotel so cant comment on the rooms at the rear. The bathroom had a huge glass window , with the bath flush with it so if you forgot to close the blind you could be sat in the bath with dozens of office workers across the street sharing your relaxation time with you.... Quite quirky!

The hotel was exceptionally busy which is a good sign, the bar / lounge area was also very busy and also very expensive, but this is what you would expect in a 4 star hotel in the middle of New York, we weren't surprised at the prices. We were on a leisure break with friends and we found an Irish bar across the street serving beer and nachos at more realistic prices.

Overall the hotel was clean good value for money great location and we would recommend it to anyone who is looking to stay in NY - oh forgot to mention no coffee and tea making facilities in the room , I notice this is a common thread in the USA probably intentional so you either order room service ( like we did) or go to the lounge.

I can't comment to any degree on the staff because we were out of the hotel for most of the day, however if and when we came in contact with them, they were really good especially the concierge desk staff, they were great very knowledgable and helpful which is what you need in a city like NYC.

One more thing this hotel is 2 blocks away from Central Park , when we arrived we unpacked and went for a walk round it to stay awake , great idea it's a piece of tranquility amongst the hustle and bustle of NYC especially those NYPD police car sirens! :-)

Another tip : shopping bargains are only good if buying USA brands apart from that very expensive and of course the exchange rate £ to $ is not as good as it used to be and be aware of the sales tax that they add on at the till ....... Check before you buy!

Room Tip: High floor front of hotel

My husband and I stayed for eight days in The London NYC, we couldn't fault it. The bed and pillows made it the most comfortable hotel we have ever stayed in. The bathroom was amazing, with a rainfall showwer AND a power shower. We had a suite on the 11th floor and nothing was too much trouble for the attentive staff. The gym was amazing and the location superb.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 11th floor and found it to be nice and quiet.
