“Don't Listen To Any Negative Reviews, This Place Is Great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2011

My wife and I went there last night and I can tell you without a doubt this is a terrific restaurant. We had an absolutely wonderful meal and contrary to what others have said the service was not only fine but was actually quite good. If you are looking for the mechanized, neo-German stylishness of many of the "of the moment" restaurants that is not this restaurant's design aesthetic, but it certainly has a well laid-out, very pleasing, country-inspired decor. However, the real star here is the food, the salads are crisp and fresh with dressings that do not overwhelm, the risotto is not the traditional mushy nonsense you get at other restaurants but instead a wonderful multi-textured rice dish with many alternating complimentary flavors and the lamb shank that I had was a very sophisticated, yet comforting dish with complimentary vegetables and of all things a sticky rice. It was outstanding! The red velvet cake for dessert was tremendous and the chocolate soufflé was one of the only ones I have ever enjoyed because it didn’t taste like eggy hot chocolate. In summary, this is a wonderful experience that should not be missed.

“great location...but”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2010

how much.... $90 for two for breakfast. I know it's at the Ritz Carlton, but €42 + taxes + service for 1 coffee (spilt into saucer) toast, scramled eggs & bacon is a joke.
Look at Sarabeths a few doors down, rammed and people queueing to get in...and compare the prices.
Lovely decor and everything but the prices dont stack up, which is why it was quite empty!!

“don't bother with this one, too many other better choices in NY”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2009

the atmosphere and decor are great, the food is ok, but the service is horrible. I don't know where they got this set of waiters/managers or how long the spent (or failed to spend) training them, but I don't understand how such a restaurant can stay in business in New York City, with so many other great choices nearby.

“absolutely dreadful service, totally incompetent staff”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2009

a decent brunch menu, but the service was appalling. Too many screw-ups to bother listing here, but we were stunned that this place was in a Ritz.

“There are much better lunch places”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2009

Ok, it's pretty and the location is terrific. But the service is AWFUL. Really awful.
and the food isn't that good, either.
the french fries were soggy and my burger was overcooked.
And talk about expensive!
Go eat at the Shake Shack or the Carnegie Deli, better food for sure
