We booked the front studio of this B&B via [--] (Washington Place Studios), which was very efficient. The studio was great, large, nice bathroom, small but useful kitchenette, lots of closets and drawers. I found a public wireless network, which was quite useful. The location of this property is simply fantastic, close to two subway lines, Washington Square Park, lots of bars, restaurants and in a nice and quiet street. Have to admit that the garden studio looked even better, including a couch (front studio doesn't have comfortable seating) and probably even more quiet.

We had an excellent experience there. The proprietor was courteous and, unlike many B&Bs, there were no scheduled meals where you are expected to socialize with the other guests. If you, like us, prefer a more anonymous experience at an artfully furnished Inn that is reasonable (by NYC standards), I highly recommend the Village Guest House.

6 of us (50 something women) stayed here for 4 nights in March. We stayed in the Loft Apt which adequately fit us all. It has 2 bedrooms and 2 newly remodeled bathrooms, which is a must for 6 women. There was a bed in the living room and a bed in the loft area. The price was quite right, especially divided by 6. The place could have been slightly cleaner and there could be some improvements made (lighting, fixing a closet door, some unfinished door frames). The place has a lot of potential! It's in a great location in Greenwich Village, very close to two subway stations. Colleen, the owner, was very nice and accommodating. We also saw one of smaller apts downstairs and it was very nicely decorated. I would stay here again.

I made a reservation with this B&B's owner, Colleen, but she didn't tell her employee. Her employee gave our room away to another couple!!! This is a first for me, and I travel quite often. Beware of this B&B's terrible customer service! I think it's a blessing that I found out about this owner BEFORE staying here.
