We came to Dizzy's with much excitement following all the positive reviews it has received. Maybe we just had a really unlucky experience but it was very disappointing. We went in December, a week before Christmas. We booked a table in advance for the 9 30 show and had told them we would be eating as well. The best part of the night was the burger, It was delicious! But the rest was poor. We were expecting a very relaxed laid back atmosphere where we could enjoy the view and the music while have a nice drink and chat. But instead, we were all encouraged at the start of the evening to not speak too much so everyone could hear the music. It was like coming to watch a show/performance as opposed to attend a club where you could have a romantic meal and enjoy a calm relaxed ambience. 5 mins into the set antother couple were seated at out table! The table that we had booked! Other couples at other tables had a table to themselves for the night. I thought this was very unfair because i assume they didnt pay any more money to have a table to themselves. We were told we were paying to reserve a table, i took that to mean our own table , turns out that wasnt the case. So it wasnt exaclty initmate or relaxed, given the table was small! The music itself, although good, was very "samey" it lasted about 70 mins and every piece was very similar, fast samba style music . In hindsight that was the theme, but it was completely BORING!! anyway, i know our experience seems to be at odds with everyone elses, but we were really disappointed by the fact that we had to share a table, which we booked and paid a considerable ammount for. if they were going to put another two people at it then surely we should have only paid for half a table?!?! especially as others got to enjoy a table to themselves thew whole night. and then the music itself, as i said, was nothing special. iv heard better jazz in lots of places. maybe theres an element of "emeperors new clothes " about the place. or maybe we just had a really unusual unfortunate experience! but all these adjectives people are using like spectacular and amazing seem like overly used superlatives, but i suppose at the end of the day everyone has their own opinion!
