“The only positive thing about this hotel is the location”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Positive:
The location is awesome! 5 minute walk to the Central Park south. 1 minute walk to the Radio City Music Hall. 10 minute walk to Time Square. You get the point!

Negative:
Long, long, long, long, long wait for the elevator when the hotel is crowded. And yes, the hotel is usually crowded with tourist and visitors from all over the world. Even though access to the different floors have separate elevators, if you are on the floor that is below their premium paying customers (I think 44th floor and below), brace yourself for a very long wait for the elevator; both up and down.

The rooms are extremely small. Wifi is slow and only free for Hilton Gold and Diamond members. Printing such as etickets is at cost. The use of their business center computers is $1 a minute with minimum of 10 minutes.

Hotel service, such as "you didn't leave me any blankets in my room", will take forever, 30+ minutes for someone from the hotel to respond to you.

If you don't mind bad to average service from the hotel, while paying $400+ for a very small room, and dealing with crowds from all over the world, yet almost perfectly located within the heart of NYC, this is the place you want to me!

Went to NYC for our 43 anniversary. Stayed two nights at Hilton Garden Inn and two nights at Hilton Midtown. We let each hotel know we were in NYC celebrating our 43 Anniversary. At Hilton Garden Inn they made us feel special. They comped breakfast for the two of us one day and also gave us a complementary bottle of wine to help celebrate. They provided free internet, had a mini fridge and a microwave with a bad of popcorn for us to use. They also had adequate electrical outlets on both side of the bed for our CPAP machines. At Midtown, it was completely different. Anniversary response was congrats. That was it. There was no microwave, no fridge, and internet was $15 per night. The one nice thing was that MIdtown did have a shower/tub. However, it you like really hot water, better not stay here. Lukewarm at best. You can run full how water without any fear of scalding at the Midtown. At Garden Inn, the shower was nice and hot. My choice, Garden Inn hands down, Midtown, not again.

This hotel is in a great place with nearly everything nearby and within walking distance. It's huge with something like 2000 rooms. Rooms are a little under 12 feet wide, as near as I could tell without a tape. Rooms in the city are smaller anyway but this one was larger than many. The bathroom air vent over the bathtub was loud and moving a great deal of air but this was great as a white noise and kept out any sounds from outside the room. We all slept great. There is valet parking and it takes some time to get your car when you want to leave. Please don't be like the family who loaded their car and then returned inside the hotel for breakfast, leaving it running and blocking the exit, halting all movement for everyone! This was not the hotels fault and they were relatively quick (10 minutes) at finding the problem and getting an attendant to move the car back to a parking area and hopefully double charging the customer who was so self absorbed and important.

All staff were great to us and we had a great time in NYC. The only complaint I have is that there is no free wifi in rooms. The rate is $19.00. Honestly, if you need to charge customers for something, charge for TV but make wifi free to all paying customers. We've progressed since 1990 and some things are just mandatory in todays world.

Four nights booked at this Hilton hotel for a birthday celebration with my sister and daughter. Got a good rate for the location and room size from the HIlton.com site. Recently became a HIlton Honors member, so this is the 4th Hilton stay this year. Have alternated between Starwood and Hyatt brand for years and decided to try Hilton for a while.
Check in went rather quickly in spite of the line when we arrived (3pm on a Thursday). Luggage brought up quickly. Reserved a standard double room and that is what we got. Room large about 300 square feet, small bathroom, clean. Really disappointed no water or coffee in the room. Apparently this HIlton did away with it it a year ago. Once our bags were brought up the bellhop said he would send up 4 waters. This finally happened hours later. I did manage to get the WIFI code so saved 14.95/day since I am still at Blue level with the Honors program.
This HIlton will give you water if you go stand in line at the front desk and ask for it. Which we have done. There is a Starbucks type restaurant. So we have been going out the parking garage and walking across the street to the 53rd Street Deli for coffee which is $ 1.75 for a large.
The positives about this HIlton are location it's close to 57th St subway, easy hike to Central Park or Times Square, clean and large rooms. The staff are very nice.
Downside is no coffee in room, small bathroom, have to stand in line for free waters and I don't think these are the nice beds I thought Hilton brand had. The mattresses are very hard and not the good sheets.
For the price we paid, we got our money's worth but wouldn't recommend this particular HIlton. Seems like this Hilton is kind of inconsistent with services and quality with what I expected of the brand.

This was our first trip to New York so I really don't have anything to compare. We stayed on the Executive floors, which are a bit more modern. Saw a room on the lower floors and it wasn't as nice as where we stayed. Staff is very helpful. Did enjoy the stay. Only complaint was that WIFI was not included in the price. This hotel is a bit pricey. But, it is New York.

The rooms on the 44th floor were small. The bathroom was really smsll. The bed was not comfortable the location is good the staff are generally friendly with a New York attitude. Parking is a utter chaos. Did not try the food Soni can't say how it was

I had a quick trip to NYC last week and chose to stay here. I did not realize at the time of booking how close it was to all the highlights of NYC this time of year! It's a large hotel yet it didn't feel overwhelming. It was VERY busy and check-in took a while, but that's good news for them as I'm confident it was at high capacity that night. The room was very nice and quiet. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting this time of year to see all the magic of Christmas that surrounds it. I'll be back next year for sure!
